Our team strives to deliver customer-centric experiences that are inspiring, inclusive, human, purposeful & trustworthy. The UX team is looking for a Content Manager for our digital org. In this role, you will lead a team of writers responsible for creating exceptional experiences that are on-brand, based on customer insights, which also takes into account market research and business requirements. The ideal candidate will have proven experience tackling ambiguous customer problems, a strong background in user-centered content strategy, and the ability to lead a team on implementing impactful experiences. Additionally, you will possess an exceptional ability to collaborate across teams, present a vision, define outcomes, and be hands-on in implementing the work. You'll be a leader in educating and advocating for the practice of human-centered design and content strategy across the co-op. Candidates must be proactive, responsive, flexible and able to succeed in a fast-paced, transforming, collaborative environment without supervision. Responsibilities
  • Discovers and frames ambiguous problems and drives solutions for an area in our digital space.
  • Responsible for overall team performance and health, resource allocation, project prioritization, and building a culture of content excellence.
  • Provides coaching, direction, and leadership support to employees in both personal and organizational goals.
  • Is a key contributor to product strategy, task & dependency analysis, scheduling, and risk mitigation plan.
  • Ensures employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
  • Oversees training and development of employees directly managed and makes effective staffing decisions.
  • Monitors operational statistics, reports trends, variances, and issues, and takes appropriate action.
  • Champions content strategy, establishes and maintains visibility within the department.
  • Supports the implementation of company programs, procedures, methods, and practices to promote REI key messages.

Bring your passion and expertise

Minimum qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in content design, user experience, user experience management, service design or closely related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience building and leading teams.
  • 2+ years of experience managing and optimizing asset delivery workflow.
  • Strong knowledge of user experience production deliverables such as CMS systems, page templates, design systems, digital asset management, mobile best practices, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating, creating and documenting user experience content strategy and publishing best practices.
  • Expertise in working cross divisionally with partners of all levels to define optimal user experiences.
  • Prior experience with optimizing cross channel user experiences.
  • Good understanding of benefits and constraints of digital publishing technologies and how they intersect with user experiences.
  • Proven delivery of elegant user interactions that combine strong usability with an engaging experience and integrated brand communications.
  • Uses business knowledge, analytics, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities.
  • Considers the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external users.
  • Builds rapport with all kinds of people inside and outside the organization.
  • Challenges the status quo, champions change and influences others to change.
Preferred qualification
  • Previous experience supporting retail industry or e-commerce apps and sites.
  • Experience in a highly agile/scrum environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
