Job Description BAE Systems’ Enterprise Shared Services (ESS) Information Technology (IT), Application Solutions service area has a need for a System Analyst who will directly support BAE Systems’ Ship Repair business unit usage of IFS. The Ship Repair business unit focuses on dry-docking and pier-side non-nuclear ship repair, modernization and overhaul services with shipyards strategically located on the east, gulf, and west coasts. These ship yards provide services to the U.S. Navy, other defense agencies such as Military Sealift Command, the Maritime Administration, the U.S Army, and the U.S. Coast Guard, as well as commercial customers.
The System Analyst will work within BAE Systems’ Enterprise Shared Services - Information Technology’s (ESS-IT) Application Solutions organization supporting the IFS V10 application. The IFS application supports multiple functional areas (e.g. Finance, Procurement, Contracts, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Document Management and Business Development). This position, under minimal supervision, will be responsible for maintaining the system configuration, deploying new or enhanced development of the application using custom objects, ad hoc SQL or operational report development using IFS report design, Lobby setup, approval work flows, custom events, security permissions and profiles, external file assistant data migration, and interfaces for new applications to other application data system. Additional responsibilities will include user support, system monitoring, troubleshooting, resolution identification, remediation, and testing, compliance and adherence to security, implementation, incident, change, and configuration processes, and producing / maintaining documentation. This position will have interaction with customers and technologists at all levels including management.
System Analyst Role
• Experience with IFS V10 O&M support, Aurena experience desired. Operations experience working with users to configure the system by developing a detailed awareness and understanding of business processes and workflows; leverages that knowledge to provide comprehensive application focused IT support. Desired experience with contexts, profiles and permissions, user account management and permission sets.
• Experience in software configuration control, build and release management, and the creation and maintenance of associated documentation. Manage testing of patches and upgrades.
• Experience with Windows server administration, digital certificates, scheduling services on proxy servers.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.
Business Analyst Role
• Work with business customers/users to define and understand process flows (as-is and to-be)
• Support the business by understanding IFS system improvements and recommending to the business how to take advantage of them
• Work with the business to define who should be able to change basic data in IFS (dynamic versus static data, process controls versus reporting needs, etc)
• Define and manage requirements for development team to implement
Technical Support Analyst Role
• Resolves routine user and application issues and problems, resolves incident tickets, troubleshoots and provides diagnostics and maintenance of supported applications
• Monitors application processes to determine operational problems or errors and initiates corrective actions
• Assists with technical and business testing of new releases of applications, vendor modifications, upgrades and patches.
• Supports compliance to Government IT regulations by following standard procedures and performing periodic reviews.
• Communicates and coordinates with vendors to resolve technical issues.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in information systems, computer science or other related field, and a minimum of eight (6) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• A minimum of two years developing IFS – V9 solutions, v10 Aurena experience is a plus.
• Applied knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) - Experience in release, documentation, and build management following a structured configuration methodology.
• Work experience and knowledge SQL coding for reporting, and IFS report designer and Report developer.
• Ability to adopt and learn new technologies quickly.
• Ability to interact with end users.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong team collaboration skills
• Contribute to a strong team environment by upholding high work standards and contributing to ongoing initiatives to reduce costs and maintain/improve service levels.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills • Ship Yard or industry technical operations support experience and knowledge with an understanding of the terminology, business functions, processes, and supporting technologies a plus.
