As Solutions Consultant (SC), you'll function as the technical point of contact for the ADP sales organization. Managing multiple sales or customer engagement opportunities simultaneously, you will respond effectively to technical and process questions received via ADP internal sales team and/or partner and client resources and serve as Technical Subject Matter Expert (TSME) during the sales cycle.

Any technical sales or pre-sales experience (technical sales support for example) or project management experience is highly desirable. This is an internal posting and is only available to current ADP employees. The candidate’s ADP experience and prior work experience will be considered for the stated requirements.
The person filling this job must be technically inquisitive, a quick learner, resourceful, and flexible. The skills and abilities important for success are:
Mastery of common IT and accounting concepts: ADP’s products exchange data with hundreds of other software applications. An SC must have a basic understanding of programming concepts, file formats, and data structures such as CSV files, ODBC connections, and import/export functions. Client projects involve payroll, accounting, time data collection, and costing functions. An SC must understand the relationships among those systems and how their outputs can create accounting transactions.
Client Service: An SC must have the ability to provide a high level of client service to our resellers and end-users. Being part of the sales process puts the SC in a highly visible position. At all times, the SC needs to exhibit a positive and patient attitude focused on providing solutions for our clients and resellers.
Analytical Skill: An SC is expected to provide technical evaluations and recommendations for integration solutions. An SC must be able to analyze a client’s requirements to determine technical feasibility and the best solution using ADP’s tools. This often involves arranging meetings with other internal ADP technical experts and reseller product experts.
Technical aptitude and attitude: The SC needs to have a strong understanding of ADP’s product capabilities and other software industry concepts, but also a willingness to stretch their technical knowledge to take on new challenges outside of the standard products.
Time & Resource Management: The SC will be given limited guidance on the importance of multiple information requests. Therefore, an SC must be very organized in his/her own work and time management. Allocating the appropriate amount of time to investigate technical issues and complete their analysis requires complete control of one’s own work environment. An SC must be flexible and willing to adjust its schedule to address an account in need of special attention.
Professionalism: The SC will project a calm, confident, concerned image to all clients and partners. An SC adheres to ADP’s expectations that they arrive to work on time, put in a full day’s work, and are prepared, if required, to accommodate a West Coast client.
Teamwork: The SC must possess a good working relationship with other ADP team members to be successful. They will also need to work efficiently with other departments within ADP to solve technical issues. The entire Technical Sales Support team is highly interdependent and each member must be willing and able to jump in where needed. SCs are expected to show a high degree of ownership for their inquiries and the Support team in general.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are required for this position. The SC must possess the ability to communicate technical issues internally and externally with reseller and/or client audiences and adjust the content of that communication appropriately. On many complex accounts, the SC is the only voice of ADP on conference calls with end-users.
Interpersonal Skills: The SC needs to present a friendly, competent persona to resellers and clients. When participating in a sales call, it is critical for the SC to listen to the client and quickly understand and react to their statements and questions in a professional manner.
