Our Aircraft Interiors business unit is seeking a Operational Excellence Project Lead to join the Operational Excellence team at their Aircraft Seating facility in Kilkeel, Co. Down.

JOB TITLE: Operational Excellence Project Lead

DEPARTMENT: Operational Excellence

RESPONSIBLE TO: Operational Excellence Director

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week. Hours of work will be 8:30am – 5:15pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am – 1:00pm Friday. The post holder may be required at times to work outside his/her normal working hours for the effective performance of the duties of the post.

Job Purpose

To support the business improvement initiatives working across business functions to deliver process and efficiency improvements. The suitable candidate must be able to demonstrate successful integration of continuous improvement initiatives as well as the vision and leadership to provide a strategic business focus.

The Role

  • Collaboratively work with senior and department management to support implementation of business improvement projects in line with site strategy and Lean deployment model.
  • To help teams develop new methods and processes throughout value stream that will support both short and long term strategic objectives.
  • To support continuous development of lean strategy and roll out.
  • To help develop project teams capabilities and skills in applying Lean principles.
  • Lead or work as part of cross functional project teams and report regularly to sponsors and senior management.
  • Deliver business improvements that will enhance employee safety, businesses competitiveness and customer reputation.
  • To support development of documented business procedures and standard work for completed projects
  • Design, develop and deliver training material as required
  • Work safely and support all company environmental, quality, financial and people related initiatives.
  • Any other duties as required by management

Please note the below criteria are the requirements for the role. You must clearly outline in your CV how you meet the below criteria:

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 2 years working experience in a manufacturing or business improvement role.
  • Computer Literate / IT skills, competent with a range of IT packages (e.g. Microsoft packages).
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, with ability to lead and interact with all levels of staff

Desirable Criteria:

  • Third Level Qualification in an Engineering or Business related discipline.
  • Previous project management experience.
  • Experience in project work as lead or part of team.
  • Experience in training in work environment.
  • Working knowledge of Lean principles
