JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Stress Engineer performs, loads analysis ,structural analysis, tests and performs certification documents of the product. The stress engineer will perform complex assignments often requiring development of new or improved products, processes, and techniques. They assess feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests, products, and equipment. The position requires an ability to interpret, on a broad basis, the principles, theories, and concepts of an engineering specialty.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interface loads analysis, Static test plan, Static test reports and comparative analysis.
  • Review all relevant technical specifications for the project.
  • Experience in structural analysis of composites and metals.
  • Experience in simplifying complex structural engineering problems with simple 2 D free-body-diagram and performing comparative analysis.
  • Generate finite element models or rigid body analysis using Nastran (or equivalent software).
  • Experience in performing Nastran Sol 101,103 etc.
  • Experience in guiding and leading a team with strong business acumen & prior experience in work scope reduction.
  • Experience in interpreting and comparing test results to analytical models (test vs FEM) on structures.
  • Consistently communicate with Program/Engineering Managers and Project Engineers to provide structural feedback and status their portion of the project.
  • Contributes to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard material, and difficult coordination requirements.
  • Coordinates project activities with other operating or engineering units to facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion.
  • Reviews project-related documentation to ensure its accuracy.
  • Assists in determining project objectives to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design.
  • Performs other related duties as required by management.
  • Experience in fatigue and damage tolerance analysis will be an added benefit.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Experience with wide range of airplane structures and structural analysis methodologies
  • Experience in mentoring other engineers
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements and way of working with management and UMs.
  • Extensive and proven experience in loads analysis and substantiation of the structure.
  • Proven ability to foresee the failure modes of a structure and prevent failures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge on finite element analysis, Nastran, FEMAP/Patran and interface loads model.
  • Experience in both aircraft interior structures and primary structures are beneficial.
  • Prior proven experience in sizing the structures, design reviews for a robust design which can pass the cert requirements.
  • Prior experiences in working with multiple OEMs.
  • Experience in working on STC projects.
