Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience managing operations across multiple suppliers and geographies in the technology space, or equivalent roles
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Russian or German fluently

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of content moderation, Development Operations (DevOps), policy enforcement, customer support, and/or policy creation
  • Ability to solve large, unstructured business problems, working closely with cross-functional teams including Sales/Business Development, Engineering, Product, Legal, and PR
  • Ability to communicate complex policy concepts for technical products
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work non-standard hours which may include nights, weekends, and holidays

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

In this role, you will join a global team of highly motivated and caring colleagues who are on a mission to enable Android developers while working across various teams to keep the ecosystem and users secure.

The Google Play and Android team within Trust and Safety broadly provides business-critical policy enforcement and partner support to facilitate, review, and work on the digital content catalog of Google Play. As a Regional Operations Manager, you will help our users and developers in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Additionally, in this role, you will travel internationally as needed.

We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Be an executive point of contact in the EMEA region, receiving stakeholder feedback for Google Play Policies and Operations
  • Lead Trust and Safety and Google Play-wide policy launches and initiatives in the region to ensure a safe app experience
  • Manage incidents and drive operational improvement to mitigate the future risks, working with Google Play teams, Policy, Operations, Engineering, and Product leadership
  • Strategize and build systems and operational workflows to meet the demands of Google Play developers and users
  • Work occasional off-hour shift rotations and travel up to 25% as needed
