• Experience in product management, leading cross-functional teams, including managers and executive leaders.
• Experience using insights and data to inform platform development.
• Experience leading the development of global platforms in a matrixed environment.
• Experience managing multiple C-level stakeholders in program, project, or portfolio management.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in Finance, Operations, or Management Consulting.
• Experience with project management.
• Ability to define large, complex projects and execute within timelines and budget with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to synthesize information while effectively managing details.
• Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally and cross-regionally with all levels of management within Google.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to think logically and make challenging decisions.

About the job

As a Senior Director for Geo Data Operations, you will own and manage a portfolio of complex projects, apply advanced judgment to develop new solutions, and think beyond existing resolutions. This includes shaping the direction and future of the organization and leading a global organization.

You will initiate, own, and lead multi-disciplinary projects, plan requirements with internal customers, and deliver projects through the entire project lifecycle. You will act as technical advisor to several project teams, manage project schedules, identify risks, and clearly communicate goals to project stakeholders. You will partner with Engineering and Product teams across Geo and Google to drive user and operating performance, efficiency, and effectiveness on a global scale.

Geo builds the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users. More than a billion people rely on Google Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives. That includes sailing down the Amazon river, choosing where to get a bite of pizza, and saving time in commuting.
Geo also helps merchants get their businesses on Google, and developers use the power of Google Maps to enhance their apps and websites. They are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving the accuracy of our geo data, all in order to plot a course for the future of mapping.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Geo Data Operations leadership team to define, launch, and drive strategic and operational initiatives. Demonstrate thought leadership and an understanding of Google’s technologies, business goals, and the industry.
• Develop strategic alliances and have a sphere of influence to execute multiple complex programs that creates and enables market opportunities.
• Influence and inform decision making, and deliver programs globally to evolve and transform Geo Data Operations strategy and user experience.
• Develop and deploy resources (e.g., users, vendors, crowdsources, etc.) to run and develop Geo’s operations.
• Identify problems and issues across organizations and create programs and processes to solve them.
