Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 15 years of experience in procurement and product launches for mechanical components, tooling, and fixtures
• Experience with mechanical development, manufacturing process development, supply chain development, CNC machined parts, die cast, Metal Injection Molding, stamping, fixtures, injection molding, gaskets, and die cuts

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working cross-functionally with industrial design, development, legal, and operations.
• Experience working in multinational environments.
• International experience in the Asian market.
• Knowledge of product development, manufacturing processes, and supply chain management.
• Effective project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line.

Our Mechanical Global Supply Chain Management team is responsible for the supplier selection, manufacturing development execution, cost discussions, and production of differentiated and unique mechanical enclosure parts and ensuring vendor supply. Google is well known for the creation and development of innovative software and hardware solutions and as such, the management of the supply chain is required to be equally unique, innovative and specialized.

As Global Supply Chain Manager, you will innovate not only our products, but also the business processes by which we accomplish our objectives. You will navigate the complicated balance between the need to achieve mechanical developments and business execution.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, discuss, and manage development of various mechanical parts.
• Own our supplier and cost strategies that supports our business of the hardware products.
• To lead a team of Global Supply Managers in working with the Cross functional team, as well as the supply partners to develop the mechanical parts, and to execute the manufacturing supply base strategy
• Work closely with Industrial Designers and Product Designers to develop and fulfill design concepts.
• Schedule capacity and supply planning to meet production demands.
