Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Organizational Behavior, Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Labor Economics, African American Studies (or other demographic-related study field), a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience conducting research.

Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD in Organizational Behavior, Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Labor Economics, African American Studies (or other demographic-related study field), a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in critical race theory, women's studies, ethnic studies (e.g., Black, LatinX, etc.), queer studies, gender studies, American studies, accessibility, and/or related areas.
  • Experience building products for diverse audiences (e.g., conducting research with people from historically underrepresented communities and/or people with accessibility needs).
  • Experience with R.
  • Experience conducting various forms of regression with excellent analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of multiculturalism and of challenges faced by under-represented populations.

About the job

As a People Analytics Researcher, you will be responsible for conducting research and analyses in support of Google's representation and racial equity goals. You will analyze data from various sources and translate findings for stakeholders and senior-level audiences to help inform equitable business decisions. In this role, you will be a quantitative researcher contributing to Google-wide research and analysis efforts supporting equity, inclusion, and personality/individual differences research.

Additional Information
(Colorado only*) Minimum salary of $118,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Use analytical reasoning to identify problems and develop hypotheses that can be tested.
  • Develop research studies and performs advanced analyses to answer questions focused on hypothesis-driven questions that will inform Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Provide subject matter expert guidance on various issues to stakeholders and senior executives.
  • Design and implement research studies, analyze data, and report on results of research initiatives to a business audience. Work through ambiguity (e.g., create structure from nothing, develop deadlines).
  • Build effective relationships and collaborate with teammates, business leaders, and HR clients to solve organizational problems. Communicate findings and recommendations to influence leaders to take action on the results.
  • Connect disparate ideas into cohesive, well-grounded recommendations, using creative, structured, and analytical thinking. Use data visualization to help communicate your ideas.
