Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in business, marketing, information technology, business, or marketing operations
  • 10 years of experience in business or marketing strategy, with operations experience.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Japanese fluently to communicate with cross-functional customers and stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in designing marketing strategy frameworks/plans for fast growing companies
  • Experience in designing metrics and benchmarks to measure marketing performance against investment
  • Experience working in an operational excellence role managing budgets, resources, performance, and business processes for defined impact and results
  • Experience in analyzing and articulating business metrics, marketing performance, and customer trends
  • Experience working in a business-to-business technology company

Strategy & Operations (S&O) professionals in Google’s Marketing organization provide business critical insights and analytics, ensure cross-functional alignment of goals and execution, and help teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. Whether you are embedded within a specific marketing team to use insights to enable better marketing decisions or the global S&O function to equip the organization to succeed at scale, you will engage with Google leadership in order to establish Marketing’s strategic direction. You will manage planning and operational processes and work cross-functionally with key partners across Marketing, Product, Finance and Engineering to solve our toughest challenges, advocate for high-priority projects, and drive greater operational excellence within Marketing.

To be successful in this role, you have a hypothesis-driven approach to problem solving, effective quantitative and communication skills, and the ability to take on broad-reaching and ambiguous questions while working collaboratively and cross-functionally with Googlers of all levels.

As a Regional Marketing Strategy and Operations Manager, you will create and implement scalable processes to gain organizational efficiency and optimize investments. You will align cross-functional stakeholders and drive strategic recommendations towards business goals through data driven insights. You will be working in a fast-paced, growth environment managing multiple projects including planning and budgeting, forecasting, and driving return on investment of marketing programs.

You will be a regional expert to align global, regional, and subregional efforts towards business priorities. You will also work and collaborate closely across functions (e.g., Partner Marketing, Partner Sales, Field Sales, Regional Marketing, Sales Operations, and Finance) ensuring the marketing organization is in close interlock with our primary stakeholders for compounded impact.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the marketing strategic planning cycle and alignment across global and regional business stakeholders.
  • Work closely with central operations to define and rationalize our objective key results/performance metrics, ensuring alignment between our marketing strategic go-to-market goals and business priorities. Be responsible for managing the annual marketing budget allocation.
  • Cascade, manage, and report quarterly performance metrics for each of the subregional and functional marketing teams, and manage quarterly review sessions.
  • Develop strategic marketing insights to identify growth opportunities, efficiency, and optimization areas for the region, partnering with regional marketing and business leads to translate insights into plans of action.
  • Drive optimization initiatives across all aspect of Marketing to improve current return on investment and productivity. Be the point of contact and for all things strategy and Operations for Singapore with cross-functional responsibility for APAC Marketing.
