Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, Economics, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience using analytics to review data to influence decisions.
• 5 years of experience developing queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
• 5 years of experience with data modeling.

Preferred qualifications:

• Ability to adapt quickly and effectively when challenged with changing goals, priorities, and mission parameters.
• Ability to take on various tasks simultaneously and in a short timeframe.
• Ability to influence others to contribute to the continuous improvement of operations.
• Ability to take the initiative when needed.

About the job

As a Business and Systems Resilience (B&SR) Specialist on the Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team, you will act as gatekeeper for the B&SR program’s data so that stakeholders can understand the data and use it to make strategic business decisions. In this role, you will lay the groundwork and contribute to day-to-day reporting needs in support of the Business and Systems Resilience program.

You will work closely with business resilience team members, other stakeholders, and management to translate business requests into data analysis. You will be tactical in implementing strategic direction– understanding the data and telling the story of why it matters. You'll bring the best ideas and stories to our stakeholders.

From keeping Googlers safe and secure to managing disruptive events, the ability to anticipate, deter, detect, and act are the pillars of Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team. As a member of GSRS you will help develop a culture where safety, security and resiliency are integrated into every facet of Google, including the creative process. You will help us continually identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop programs that drive sustainable effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, interpret, and summarize program progress by analyzing data sets to draw conclusions, uncover trends, identify patterns and give actionable, meaningful insights.
• Clean and prepare data for use (dashboards, Key Performance Indicators, analysis, etc.).
• Develop and implement databases, data collection tools, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize efficiency and quality.
• Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
• Define process improvement opportunities.
