Demand Planning Manager – Mars Wrigley

The Demand Manager is responsible for the management of the National Sales forecasting process for the Confection business. This includes:

  • Focus both short-term (next 12 weeks) and long-term (YE+1 & YE+2) time horizons
  • Responsibility for period end demand related reporting and inputs into S&OP process.
  • Lead period Key Account Review meetings, partnering with Sales and Finance..
  • Identify areas of Risk and Opportunity to the demand forecast
  • Lead S&OP Step 2 (DMR) for the Confection Business.

What are we looking for?

  • University Degree (preferably Business) and fin. Designation preferred (inc. MBA)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills (mathematical aptitude and information filtering)
  • Strong computer skills (Excel modelling, Power Point presentations) & ability to understand and adapt to in-house finance/forecast systems
  • Business Planning
  • Demand Forecasting experience preferred

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Develop a forecast based upon the review and analysis of market conditions, sales and marketing programs and other quantifiable activities. Formally present analysis supporting the forecast and/or recommended changes
  • Translate the Sales Team and Marketing Team activity sets into an operational sales forecast by sku, by customer and by period.
  • Creating a robust bottom up build of account level forecast (in Volume) to YE.
  • Create a robust top down forecast at market Level for YE+1 & YE+2
  • Support the supply team in Daily Home team meetings.
  • Decision maker on product allocation by customer if conflicts exist.
  • Lead / Participate in Root Cause Analysis wrt service issues, specifically where forecast is a contributor.
  • Validate the periodized product forecast on a weekly basis with specific emphasis on the “12-week forecast” agreed to at the Account Review Meeting.
  • Measure and drive improvements in Sales forecast accuracy (SFA) and the Demand Planning Process.
