Managing Director, Program Manager
Who You’ll Be Working With:

Evolent Health is looking for a Managing Director, Program Manager to join our PMO (Project Management Office) within Evolent Health Services. Evolent Health Services partners with health plans and risk-bearing provider organizations to simplify administrative and clinical operations through comprehensive services, proprietary technology, partnership models and deep payer/provider expertise. This role interacts with a diverse spectrum of the organization, from staff level operators to the C-suite.

What You’ll Be Doing:
This position is responsible for program management of large-scale enterprise strategic programs that transform the way Evolent operates, competes in the market and achieves our bold mission. Additionally, the role has direct people management responsibility for project managers supporting programs and other projects across the portfolio.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Set and continually manage program expectations with team members and other stakeholders, tailoring communication to various audience levels
  • Serve as collaboration catalyst amongst the key Evolent domains and technical leads
  • Demonstrate solution-oriented mindset and infuse across Evolent Health Services
  • Prepare and present executive updates in various forms (e.g. email, steering committees, etc.)
  • Inspire and motivate the program team by embodying Evolent’s mission and values
  • Use expert knowledge and negotiation skills to effectively influence all project and non-project stakeholders, including c-suite leaders

Planning and Execution

  • Define scope, goals, and deliverables that support business strategy in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Take accountability and ownership for delivering the end to end program, always operating with integrity
  • Partner with executive leaders to define, set and manage budget and other financial targets
  • Partner with executive leaders to define, set and manage quality, efficiency, and other key success measures
  • Develop and execute program level project plans across various groups within the organization and with external business partners
  • Define, implement, and manage program governance across a geographically diverse organization
  • Synthesize information and impacts across the program
  • Inform and optimize organizational decision-making, operational execution, and resource allocation based on data and sound reasoning
  • Support business areas when roadblocks are encountered and aid in successful removal of obstacles (escalating where appropriate)
  • Perform program closing activities to ensure a seamless transition to business owners in addition to gathering lessons learned for continuous improvement

Management and Standards

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of all PMO functions (intake, portfolio management, execution, strategy, etc.)
  • Support ongoing program scoping, estimating, and resourcing
  • Facilitate capacity planning and management
  • Directly or indirectly manage project managers leading program workstreams or initiatives
  • Provide constructive feedback to project team members and management
  • Define, implement, and manage program standards (e.g. risk/issue management, project planning, etc.) and adapt as needed
  • Utilize portfolio and project management technology to effectively manage programs & projects, report progress, analyze data and continuously improve
  • Lead development of PMO strategy in support of broader corporate strategy

The Experience You’ll Need (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 12+ years of project or program management experience in healthcare
  • 8+ years of people management
  • Experience with budgets, forecasts, and workforce projections
  • Strong collaboration and ability to influence across all levels of an organization
  • Creative and independent problem-solving skills, adapting approach as needed for each engagement
  • Expert foundational project management skills (project planning, risk mitigation, etc.) and ability to adapt to program specific needs
  • Expert written and oral communication across all levels of an organization including c-suite leaders
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications including advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Project

Finishing Touches (Preferred):

  • Advanced degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Familiarity with Agile software development life cycle
  • Thrives in fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt
  • Experience with
  • Health plan operations
  • Technology enabled service organization
  • Excelling on a virtual team across time zones
  • Clarizen or other web-based portfolio and project management tools
