Sr Technical Marketing Specialist (REMOTE, Cedar Rapids, IA preferred)

Description

We are currently seeking a Sr. Technical Marketing Specialist to support our Business and Regional Avionics division in Cedar Rapids, IA. This position is considered Remote with some in-office support required.
Technical Marketing provides the successful candidate the opportunity to help build the fast-growing cabin market for business jet content management systems. This position provides visibility and exposure to all other functions of the business unit like program management, marketing, engineering, finance and contracts and can be an ideal stepping stone for a technical role who is seeking to broaden skills and experience.
Job responsibilities:

  • Interacts with account managers and customers prior to and/or after sale developing and maintaining positive partner relationships. Recognizes add-on growth opportunities for assigned accounts.
  • Proactively gathers customer information and coordinates internal efforts to assure a timely response to requests, and develops solutions for customer-specific applications
  • Actively participates in the development of pursuit strategies and supporting the development of capture plans
  • Participates in Decision Gate reviews providing insights on competitive and pricing strategies and assisting the pursuit lead
  • Works closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Value Stream, & Program Management to ensure concurrence on pursuit strategy and that the maximum breadth of Collins portfolio is brought to the marketplace.
  • Cultivates an extensive network of internal contacts providing sources of information for complex situations
  • May lead capture planning activities and proposal development using strategic analysis, presentation skills and writing techniques
  • Develops customer-focused proposals that make a compelling case for the Collins value proposition
  • Provides direction to Pricing integrating assumptions from competitive analysis into financial models that accurately position Collins to win
  • Provides guidance and incorporates the strategic theme and the value proposition message into the proposal
  • Participates in Value Stream cadence meetings providing market and competitive input
  • Maintains customer databases and sales information to support pursuit reviews and cadences
  • Coordinates training and webinars
  • Contributes and implements innovative ACE ideas, continually working to enhance and improve processes and procedures that enable optimized productivity and customer-focused offerings
  • Performs work without appreciable direction. Develops solutions to problems requiring the regular use of ingenuity and innovation.
  • Effects of decisions are long-lasting and heavily influence the future course of the organization.
  • Develops opportunities to positively impact performance to all customers and/or serve as a precedent for future decisions across the Business Unit.
  • Able to assist in the construction of competitive analysis models

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Person/ Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder
  • Experience translating customer requirements into executable solutions
  • Working knowledge of avionics/cabin systems and interfaces

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Venue, CES and other IFE solutions
  • Technical sales experience
  • Experience in an engineering / technical support discipline
  • Proposal experience
  • Experience within the aviation industry
