The evolution of the Newell Supply Chain (NSC) includes a focus on driving productivity through building capability in people, processes, and technology. PEAK, Newell’s branded improvement strategy, is fundamental to that goal. The Supply Chain PMO team will help to achieve the productivity targets within Supply Chain through a global management and knowledge sharingand execution of project management. As an integral part of the Supply Chain communities of practice, this role will be highly visible with major impact across all Newell Business Units.

Job Summary
The Supply Chain Project Management Office (SCPMO) operates as a Center of Excellence for Project Management at a strategic level and sits outside of any operational Business function. It collaborates directly with Senior Leaders and has responsibility for key projects across the Supply Chain organization. The main goal of the SCPMO is to provide standardized guidelines, processes, and expectations across the Newell Supply Chain (NSC) and all SC Business Units within the organization. It ensures that all projects are aligned with Newell’s FUEL iniatives while encorporating business strategy, standards and policies.

Specific Responsibilities
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining a standard set of practices, processes and templates for managing projects consistently and efficiently in order to achieve results on time while reducing project related risks and costs
• Provide oversight on project progress and development, while forming strong partnerships with cross-functional teams
• Drives ownership and execution for delivering project portfolio meeting deliverables on timing, cost, quality, and budget.
• Monitor and report status of project progress and risks to the leadership team and key stakeholders.
• Hold regular reviews to ensure program and project plans are aligned with Business objectives
• Use financial information and data to conduct analysis and support fact-based project and business decisions.
• Leads collaboration efforts across the organization to leverage best practices, expertise, and shared resources.
• Manage multiple projects and programs concurrently
• Establish processes, tools, and tracking/reporting mechanisms to streamline and simplify launch preparations and readiness
• End-to-end project coordination, managing efforts of multiple stakeholders to ensure all ramp-up and post-site commissioning tasks are completed as per program
• Ensuring overall project completion through thorough composite project reviews, milestone achievements, and effective communication of in-flight changes
• Ensuring launch sites have the training resources needed to launch effectively by go-live date by defining and supporting critical role requirements
• Substantial post project support inclusive of on site
• Post project lessons-learned sessions to drive continuous improvements
• Driving operational goals and metrics for the launch project
• Presenting launch and project metrics to the Senior Leadership team

The Candidate
The successful candidate must be technically competent within a supply chain vertical with a willingness to being hands-on and comfortable with tactical execution while working on projects of strategic importance.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Supply Chain management
• Demonstrated familiarity with supply chain processes
• Experience leading complex programs with high complexity and high levels of capital spend.
• Proven ability to facilitate relations between Executive Leadership and Business Units
• Demonstrated familiarity with structured project management methodologies.
• Experience in developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes
• Logical and creative problem-solving and analytical skills required.
• Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Project Online, and SharePoint.
• Demonstrates high ethics and values.
• Highly effective organization and planning skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with presentation skills are required.
• 7+ years of relevant work experience in management consulting, start-ups, project and/or program or product management, physical retail, ecommerce and fullfilment center, finance and marketing initiatives.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver programs and projects on tight deadlines, start to finish, while managing adherence to strategic intent and customer experience, with the ability to drive prioritization and consensus across business units
• Travel up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA or advanced degree
• Ability to think both strategically and tactically with strong attention to detail
• Proven analytical skills and highly numerate
• Proven track record of taking ownership and delivering results
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• A willingness to roll up sleeves to get things done
• Knowledge of consumer related metrics and go-to-market strategies
