Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in vendor management/service delivery, managing operations across multiple suppliers and geographies in the technology space.
  • Experience in operations/business management or vendor management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Project Management Certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Experience in risk and change management.
  • Ability to have effective presence, relationship building, and solution-selling to leadership.
  • Ability to work with multiple suppliers, cross-functional, and business teams to set up, stabilize, and scale new product operations.

We advocate for users through partnerships with product areas at Google (and some Alphabet businesses), supporting Google’s consumer products ecosystem and enabling numerous launches for Google’s consumer products each year.

As a Vendor Manager, you will play an important role in setting up and running vendor outsourcing operations across multiple service capabilities at global scale. You will directly be responsible for vendor relations with global vendors that provide services for a host of exciting new products/service offerings from Google (e.g., Search, Assistant, Lens, Pixel, Nest, Play, etc.).

In this role, you will support Search Assistant and Research product areas, and will have the unique opportunity to build your skills in outsourcing across a variety of different types of services (i.e., Machine Learning data operations, one on one User Support Operations, Community Support Operations, Technical Development Operations, etc.). You will work across a breadth of products and features that include Search and Assistant product areas, and beyond that to all AI/ML enabled features in various Google products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financials, key metrics, and workflow allocation for global projects on vendor operations cutting across multiple geographies, suppliers, and platforms.
  • Be a liaison for multiple vendor groups, be able to identify the process opportunities and work with teams to help streamline operations, drive operational excellence, remove redundancies in the process, handoffs, etc. Review vendor data, identify process improvement opportunities, and drive improvement of vendor performance (e.g., SLA compliance, Monthly Business Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews).
  • Play an important role in identifying opportunities to transition slightly mature workflows to most appropriate locations, as well as ensure adequate process documentation/training material metrics and relevant frameworks are in place.
  • Own and drive key initiatives/programs impacting global vendor operations (e.g., quality, documentation, knowledge management, etc.).
