Job Description

About Us

We are a world-class visitor attraction and leading science research centre. We use the Museum's unique collections and our unrivalled expertise to tackle the biggest challenges facing the world today. We care for more than 80 million objects spanning billions of years and welcome more than five million visitors annually and 16 million visits to our website.

Today the Museum is more relevant and influential than ever. By attracting people from a range of backgrounds to work for us, we can continue to look at the world with fresh eyes and find new ways of doing things.

We employ 900 staff in a variety of roles, all united by our vision of a future where people and planet thrive. We need everyone to have the passion and drive to help us with our mission to create advocates for our planet and inspire millions to care about the natural world.

Diversity and inclusion matter to us.

Diversity is one of our core values and we strive to build a workplace where everyone feels a sense of belonging. All new staff who join us learn about the importance of diversity and inclusion to the Museum and how to contribute to creating an inclusive environment.

We know we have more to do, but we are committed to ensuring that everyone who works at the Museum feels they can thrive and feel valued and respected.

About the role

We are looking for a product manager to join and lead our Visit Product Team. You’ll join a team of digital product managers; we have five product teams working to different areas of the NHM strategy.

You’ll work to deliver world-class digital products for the Museum, in support of our bold new mission to substantially grow audiences across all digital platforms whilst supporting ambitious digital revenue targets. In addition, you’ll work to the Museum’s digital goals, deliver outstanding customer experiences and fit with our brand vision.

Our product teams are set up in a similar way to squads - they are goal-led and empowered. You will take a hands-on role leading a product delivery team: this will include end to end responsibility for discovery (research), validation, testing and delivery of product initiatives that support the Museum’s digital goals and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The Visit Product team holds a significant role in us successfully achieving our strategic aims. You’ll be responsible for digital products that inspire people to visit the museum, help them plan their visit and deepen their engagement both during and post-visit. We are exploring the ever-blurring boundaries of digital-to-physical and physical-to-digital experiences and you’ll lead us on this journey. You’ll collaborate with other product teams, particularly Commercial, to build a cohesive experience across different elements of the Museum customer journey and service design.

About you

You will have deep digital product management experience, delivering highly successful consumer products that drive conversion. Along with a successful track record in working in an agile / lean environment, using data, testing and experimentation to inform decision making, you will also be comfortable working in a collaborative and fast paced environment, leading teams to success.
