As part of this role you will be conducting strategic and operational reviews of I&S processes and systems.

Philips Internal Audit (PIA) is looking for a highly energetic and qualified professional with sound functional expertise in Innovation & Strategy (I&S) to contribute to its further transformation into a world class innovative audit function. In this role, as a senior audit manager you will be engaged with senior executives and leading complex audits that provide value assurance to the Philips Executive Committee. You will also be exploring opportunities to contribute to audits in other functional domains such as Integrated Supply Chain (Operations), Finance, IT as well as businesses and markets. You will drive continuous improvement in processes and audit methodology to sustain world class standards in Philips Internal Audit with worldwide focus.

You are responsible for

While working in PIA you'll be at the heart of our global company. PIA plays a key role in supporting the Philips Executive Committee by helping operationalize decisions, measure performance, set company-wide global standards, and drive corporate initiatives. You will be mainly responsible for

  • Delivering high impact audit reviews addressing key risks subjected to Philips.
  • Handling complex reviews in the domain of your functional expertise – Innovation & Strategy. These reviews need to be prepared, executed, and reported in line with world-class audit standards.
  • Establishing and maintaining a professional relationship with auditee (ExCo members and their leadership teams) when leading such reviews.
  • Engaging regularly with key stakeholders including leadership teams and GBPOs in discussions related to risk, audit results, and audit planning.
  • Leading and participating in audit engagements outside Innovation & Strategy domains to broaden your perspective and provide your outside-in perspective to your peers.
  • Leading and participating in risk workshops establishing risk profiles for markets, business groups/units or functions.
  • Acting as a trusted Partner to business, you will work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment as well as think through complex challenges and deliver results. Maintaining and actively building a network in relevant functions, businesses, and markets, as necessary.
  • Actively providing peer feedback and coaching to your colleagues throughout the audit engagements.
  • Sharing the best practice and knowledge with other peers in PIA by contributing to a Knowledge Management Community, where you learn from experienced colleagues.

You are a part of

The PIA team operates as one global team with over 15 different nationalities in 8 different locations around the globe. Within the PIA team, you will be reporting to the Head of Internal Audit for IT, I&S and Integrated Supply Chain.

Within PIA, we seek to develop the next generation of leaders. We deploy a program to develop your knowledge base to position you for future leadership roles within the company. Typically, we grow your knowledge and capabilities within audit for 3 to 5 years and then support you in finding the next impactful role where you can make a difference using your learnings in PIA.

With its independence and objectivity, PIA safeguards Philips’ assets and assures planned value creation by providing value added independent assessments of Philips’ strategic, operational, compliance, and financial risks and activities as part of the Philips Business System (PBS).

These assessments cover all business processes within Philips’ businesses, markets, and functions. The outcomes of the reviews are reported to respective management and to the Philips Executive Committee together with an agreed action plan for improvement.

PIA is also proactively facilitating risk identification and awareness throughout the organization as part of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.

Our organization acts as a catalyst for benchmark performance by enabling the identification and cross fertilization of best practices across Philips, helping to create a platform for knowledge management. Partner with the business and facilitate the development of sustainable solutions owned and executed by management to effectively mitigate Philips risks.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • You have a Bachelor / Master’s degree in Engineering / Science with minimum of 8-10 years relevant functional working experience in Strategy, Idea to Market, R&D, Engineering, and various innovation areas in a multinational business environment gained within or outside Philips. PhD and / or MBA is a plus.
  • You demonstrate strong knowledge of innovation processes (I2M), understanding the current portfolio, business strategy and vision, innovation strategies and objectives.
  • You have knowledge / awareness of quality processes within and outside I2M domain (EU-MDR/FDA)
  • You have knowledge of risk management and mitigation, and ability to develop recommendations for improving processes, systems, and governance.
  • You have excellent leaderships skills, as you will lead the audit team for audits within your domain of expertise. Therefore, you need to have an excellent ability to lead and manage the reviews and assessments we carry out.
  • You have an excellent ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment as well as think through complex challenges and deliver results.
  • You have excellent (written and oral) communication skills in English and know how to engage constructively with senior management and deal with significant exposure environments.
  • To be successful in this dynamic challenging environment, you are self-confident, accurate, persistent, resilient, able to exercise diplomacy and display high standards of integrity and able to handle various communication styles.
  • Previous audit experience is not a prerequisite.
  • Willingness to travel 30-40% globally.
