Founded by Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg in 2015, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) is a new kind of philanthropy that’s leveraging technology to help solve some of society’s toughest challenges – from eradicating disease, to improving education. Across our core initiatives of Science and Education, we’re pairing engineering with grantmaking, impact investing, policy work, and advocacy, to progress in our mission of building an inclusive, just and healthy future for everyone.
We believe we can help build a future for everyone.
Our success is dependent on building teams that include people from different backgrounds and experiences who can challenge each other's assumptions with fresh perspectives. To that end, we look for a diverse pool of applicants including those from historically marginalized groups — women, people with disabilities, people of color, formerly incarcerated people, people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and/or gender nonconforming, first and second generation immigrants, veterans, and people from different socioeconomic backgrounds.
CZI also supports multiple work options. Learn more about our philosophy and approach here .
CZI’s investment function is a new effort within the organization. The goal is to build a world-class investment portfolio that will deliver superior risk-adjusted returns to fund CZI’s ongoing operations over the long term. The investment program pursues a “manager of managers” approach, scouring the globe to find extraordinary investment organizations that invest across a wide spectrum of styles and asset classes. The team is led by Chief Investment Officer David Lee, and currently has ten other investment professionals and one executive assistant.
We are looking for an Executive Assistant to provide administrative support for Andrew Walling, a senior member of the investment team. The support will range from scheduling travel and meetings, drafting correspondence, processing expense reports, coordinating internal processes, and organizing team events, among other duties.
We have a “one team, one portfolio” approach, in which every team member takes ownership for our collective success. Candidates should be comfortable with a fast-paced environment and eager to be part of building our investment organization. They will possess an ability to navigate ambiguity effectively and be collaborative, hungry to learn, nimble, and proactive. Applicants must have strong communication skills, incredible attention to detail, must be able to work independently, and always be one step ahead. The person in this role will need to be a masterful problem-solver and an organizational whiz.
