This is a remote position, the selected candidate can reside and perform the work from anywhere within the United States.

As a Global Payroll Transformation Lead, you will have the opportunity to contribute the business strategy across functional areas, enable payroll operational excellence through transforming and automating processes and integrating latest technology. You will be working with internal and external stakeholders to align on the best solution and practices on the market to meet specific business objectives.

This position will enable you lead technological advancements and solutioning through understanding company needs and the current technology development on the market and industry. This is an exciting opportunity to work with global and diverse teams of professionals across the GM Globally and be able to create positive and rapid impact to the GM Family and your professional growth.

Role Responsibilities

The transformations specialist is expected to lead the business side of global payroll process improvement and standardization. Working closely with HR, finance, people services, IT and other global payroll teams to define the current process gaps, market best practice standard processes, and lead end to end transformation initiatives. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Lead system implementation projects
  • Work with global cross-functional teams to define payroll operation templates
  • Benchmark processes with other similar structured companies.
  • Identify gaps with Best in Class and opportunities to consolidate and improve processes
  • Identify any risks regarding changes and develop a strategy to address them
  • Lead in-country local business team to migrate local payroll processes to the global payroll standards
  • Deploy common processes, re-engineer and streamline work efforts
  • Implement common KPIs/metrics across all countries
  • Develop and present improvement recommendations to other members of the organization
  • Identify any potential financial impact and ability to seek the appropriate guidance from the respective technical groups

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, HR, or IT or related areas
  • Project Management and Global system deployment experience
  • Knowledge of functional payroll systems/processes understanding (Power BI, Workday, etc.) helpful
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage data that includes entry, storage, organization and analysis of data
  • Excellent communication, team building and planning skills
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities, handle multiple projects and manage time effectively
  • Analytical savvy, technical & problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated process improvement and technology thinking skills
  • Proactive work style, desire to take on additional responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Available to travel up to 20% as needed

Additional Job Description

Compensation: The median level of salary compensation for this role is $109,283.

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
