Gopay Financial Crimes Compliance and Customer Protection (GFCCP) is seeking a highly talented and engaging strategic leader who has experience of leading and driving the development and execution of an investigative & operations program made up of managers, investigators, and technical staff. The Director for Gopay Financial Crimes and Customer Protection, will provide leadership and expertise to lead strategic initiatives relative to investigative processes, help to guide the development of people and culture, guide change and help ensure a consistent execution throughout the GFCCP footprint. The role requires demonstrated excellence in supervision, thought leadership, and spearheading transformation efforts. The incumbent should be keen on taking initiative with the ability to think critically and strategically with a highly organized execution manner. This role will be reporting to the Head of Domestic Risk and Compliance as well as Global GFCCP and will be responsible for working across teams to support global and enterprise-wide initiatives. This role also requires the ability to operate independently and manage multiple competing priorities with difficult deadlines and exhibit a sense of urgency when necessary.

Expectations

  • Excellent knowledge and experience in domestic regulatory requirements and familiar with global AML policy.
  • Demonstrated experience developing a financial crimes program from inception.
  • Strong ability to help set up the program/process and tools.
  • Lead by example within pod to ensure Service Level goals and volume output expectations are consistently met. Step in to assist with casework when needed or delegate appropriately to ensure that team goals are met or exceeded.
  • Implement and perform optimal number of enrichment assessments and provide timely, ongoing feedback to ensure culture of high quality, both directly and through coaching others; provide situational-based coaching in a one-on-one setting to ensure that the feedback is received and a plan for action is established with the investigator to ensure future success.
  • Achieve demonstrable and material quality improvement or maintenance of consistent high-quality output.
  • Exhibit the necessary passion, influence, and engagement in the leadership of your program, to maximize the utility of the team's resources.
  • Lead and Engage directs in mentoring, facilitation of huddles, and ensuring effective learning sessions to develop best practices and cultivate learning.
  • Champion and drive enhancement opportunities in quarterly sprints by delivering on committed dates, UAT testing, SOPs, Training, etc.
  • Design and execute strategies and processes that minimize touch points, eliminate unnecessary customer impacts, and supports the investigative strategy.
  • Deliver on specific action items/initiatives to address Impact survey and other team feedback.
  • Provide objective oversight and challenge of strategy, key business decisions, and performance for improved outcomes.
  • Proactively work with Internal Audit to understand key issues and maintain oversight on resolution plans across businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Investigative initiatives with identified and measurable milestones and goals, including regular, comprehensive reporting to inform key leaders of efforts relating to each initiative.
  • Lead the development of GoPay Financial Crimes and Consumer protection CI personnel with a specific focus on development of management rigor and leaders.
  • Task with delivering a highly engaged and capable team of investigative and leadership personnel.
  • Mature, maintain and evolve Investigative Policy, Standards and Procedures.
  • Deliver verbal and written briefings to internal partners and key leaders regarding identified issues and findings relating to each initiative.
  • Provide expertise in the development of strategic initiatives.
  • Through dynamic and diverse leadership approaches ensure execution of key initiatives and guide change management efforts.
  • Act as a key strategic partner to the other Global Financial Crime & Consumer Protection (GFCCP) stakeholders/partners relative to developing metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Provide guidance and oversight in raising awareness of broader policy and product issues and driving toward timely resolution.
  • Display leadership by engaging, partnering with internal stakeholders and external partners in thinking and acting critically to identify opportunities for collaboration, raise awareness of identified efficiencies, and develop recommendations to mitigate risk.
  • Other related tasks as required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced degree and equivalent experience preferred.
  • 10+ years professional experience managing/supervising complex operational teams involving cross border legal and regulatory issues.
  • Proven experience in leading large organizations with exceptional performance and engagement results.
  • Prior experience in developing metrics programs for investigative groups and performance indicators.
  • Proven ability to think critically and act quickly with a high level of discretion and consideration analyze large amounts of data to report critical information.
  • Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues.
  • Advanced data analysis skills.
  • Travel, as needed.
