Job Description

We are looking for an outstanding Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst to join our Freemium Business FP&A team. The Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst will be a trusted partner to Spotify’s Global Marketing and be responsible for providing end-to-end FP&A support to all of our marketing efforts across Brand, Premium, Content, Performance and cross-functional teams globally. The ideal candidate should have in-depth understanding of key financial and operational drivers across a range of marketing channels. They should have strong financial budgeting and forecasting skills, excellent attention to detail, and be able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, high growth environment. This role will report into the Senior FP&A Manager in Marketing & Analytics. This is a truly global role providing exposure and growth across multiple legal jurisdictions and environments.

What you'll do:

    • Support the monthly, quarterly and long-term forecasts for Spotify’s global marketing investments
    • Develop tools and resources to drive insights related to budget allocation, attribution analysis and financial reporting which will guide decision making
    • Establish quarterly marketing performance reporting and analysis framework, including total spend, CPA, LTV ratios, and brand vs. performance marketing splits
    • Work cross-functionally with key partners in marketing and analytics to develop business insights that uncover MAU/subscriber growth levers and chances to improve customer value.
    • Collaborate with finance on various analyses to identify most efficient marketing tactics and best approach going forward
    • Support the Annual Planning and Investment Prioritization exercise
    • Update weekly and monthly presentations and provide relevant context for business reviews with leadership
    • Develop impactful, compelling presentation materials (decks, notes, write-ups, backup materials, etc.) that effectively communicates financial projections, drivers, business performance, risks and opportunities to leadership

Who you are:

    • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related subject area.
    • Minimum of 5 years shown experience in an analytical and/or planning role at a public company or consulting, banking, tech etc.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of a Freemium, Marketing, and Subscription models and metrics like GRP, ROAS, CPA, LTV ratio, Subscriber Acquisition Cost, Churn, ARPU etc. in order to influence decision making and business results
    • Ability to keep the big picture in mind while also paying attention to detail
    • Outstanding analytical skill, with a passion for metrics and data; ability to apply in order to influence and drive decision making
    • Self-starter who is intellectually curious and not afraid to seek out projects independently
    • High competence and passion for sophisticated problem solving applying financial modeling and analysis, including advance Excel and experience working with SQL datasets and data visualization tools (Python and SQL skills are a plus)
    • Experience with visualization (Tableau, etc.) and financial software (Adaptive Planning, Coupa, NetSuite, etc.) is a plus
    • Strong social skills, both verbal and written
    • Passionate about both technology and music/podcasts
