It's an exciting time to be a part of Team Lilly! Our ADME group is growing, and we are looking for hardworking scientists to join us. Lilly is seeking a bioanalytical chemist to contribute to the creation and operation of an ADME in vitro screening laboratory that will be integral to the advancement of our small molecule discovery portfolio. You will help develop and implement LC/MS methods to support quantitative measurements from high-throughput in vitro assays . The successful candidate must have demonstrated bioanalytical experience including sample preparation, independent operation and troubleshooting LC/MS instruments, and data analysis and interpretation. You will use these skills to impact our research and ultimately our therapies.

Do you have basic knowledge of properties and/or enzyme systems responsible for absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of xenobiotics? We need someone who has experience with high throughput automation platforms and bioanalytical method development.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the bioanalytical efforts to support high-throughput in vitro assays using LC/MS
  • Responsible for the sample preparation to optimize bioanalysis
  • Create, develop, and implement solutions to optimize workflows and processes
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and solutions to optimize productivity
  • Subject matter expert and technical expert for bioanalytical issues and troubleshooting
  • Responsible for the automation, conduct, analysis, interpretation, documentation and/or reporting of bioanalytical results.
  • Assist in creating an ADME in vitro laboratory which includes collaborations with facilities, health and safety and technical experts.
  • Collaborate with other scientist in the high-throughput ADME screening group to develop, validate, and/or implement in vitro enzymatic assays and methods including, but not limited to, CYP P450 inhibition, plasma stability, solubility, and microsomal clearance.
  • Perform administrative tasks associated with laboratory safety, maintenance, and operation.
  • Serve as QC/QR reviewer for data notebooks and documents

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in biology, pharmacology, chemistry, or related subject area

Additional preferences / skills:

  • Experience with LC/MS instrumentation and sample analysis
  • Experience with Sciex LC/MS systems
  • Ability to rapidly learn new concepts and to work independently to develop assays/methods.
  • Strong written, verbal communication and project management skills
  • Demonstrated results/experience in work on interdisciplinary teams.
