Job Description

Stripe’s Strategic Partner Engineering team, part of our Developer Relations organization, works with our strategic partners to design and develop advanced integrations for the Stripe platform. Partner Engineers are experienced software engineers with a strong background developing integrations, consulting with partners to understand their objectives, and leveraging technology to drive platform business value.

You will:

Become an expert on Stripe’s platform technologies and how to best deploy them within the context of existing products
Work hand-in-hand with our Business Development and Product organizations to develop proof of concepts and recommendations that help our strategic partners build compelling applications that drive understanding of new product integrations
Develop proof of concepts, and platform application developer recommendations and best practices to help our strategic partners build compelling applications that will drive excitement about the platform
Own and drive relationships with external technical audiences of all kinds — from engineer to CTO — to understand business objectives and translate requirements into integrations
Provide structured feedback and work closely with Stripe’s product engineering teams to shape the future of our platform

You should be:

A capable software engineer, with previous background building web or mobile applications Experienced in full stack development and software architecture patterns, able to understand how a wide variety of technologies and systems interact with each other
A great communicator, comfortable explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Interested in solving open ended business problems with a combination of technology and creative thinking
Experienced working in an API partnership program and driving outcomes in a customer-facing environment
Enthusiastic about educating and enabling others and helping developers solve problems

The ideal candidate:

Is comfortable writing code in a few of Stripe’s primary deployment languages (Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Java, etc.) and enjoys learning new languages and technologies
Has experience integrating Stripe or other RESTful APIs into web applications with an adept sense for both user and developer experience
Has a background working in a similar partner-facing role (e.g. developer advocate, partner engineer, technical solutions engineer or solutions architect)
Has at least six years of experience in developer advocacy, partner engineering, software engineering or product management.
Thrives in a cross-functional, collaborative environment
