The Collins Information Management Services (IMS) team is currently leading the Connected Ecosystem strategic pillar for Collins Aerospace. Within the IMS team, the Engineering Excellence Service team is the shared service to the IMS Engineering organization. This position is for a Senior Systems Administrator to assist in standing up an IMS engineering tools organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the deployment of new IT solutions.
  • Prompt response to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, and electronically.
  • Support virtual & physical desktop environments.
  • Create/maintain Confluence spaces and permission schemes, and JIRA projects, workflows, screen schemes, custom fields, permission schemes, and notification schemes.
  • Create, change and delete user accounts and permissions as required.
  • Monitor the performance of servers, software, and hardware.
  • Onboard new teams to JIRA and help existing teams optimize their workflows.
  • Provide user management, training, and support for JIRA to development and project teams as needed.
  • Maintain technical documentation.
  • Apply built-in customization and third-party add-ons to extend JIRA functionality as needed.
  • Work independently within assigned priorities and project schedules.
  • License & Maintenance Management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
  • Ability to collaborate and ability to work across different organizational groups.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Atlassian Suite and features, with an understanding of general administration and configuration to maximize efficiency in using the tool.
  • Jira and Jira service desk administration experience.
  • Confluence administration experience.
  • Ability to write custom JQL (Jira Query Language).
  • Experience in performing Atlassian installations, migrations, and plugin installation.
  • LDAP integration experience.
  • Configuration Management understanding.
  • Good Troubleshooting, Analytical, Communication, and Client Interfacing skills.
  • Excel basic and advanced skills for manipulating Jira exports.

Preferred Skills:

  • Cloud /AWS experience.
  • Experience installing applications on VMs, monitoring performance, and tailing logs on Unix Systems Administration and Microsoft Windows Server.
  • Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL Database administration skills.
  • Experience developing custom scripts/ Rest API calls to pull data for metrics reporting.
  • Experience developing and deploying custom plugins for Jira.
  • Excellent Troubleshooting skills.
  • Software Development Environment Exposure.
  • Agile (Scrum) Project Exposure.
