About this role

The Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications for Israel will lead BlackRock's Marketing and Corporate Communications efforts in one of BlackRock’s growth markets in the EMEA region. The role is critical to help shape the firm's corporate brand and drive the commercial agenda locally. The role is based in the Tel Aviv office and reports into the Head of Marketing for Continental Europe.

Key responsibilities

The primary focus of this role is to develop and oversee the execution of the communications and marketing strategy and activities locally that build greater knowledge and recognition of the firm's brand and the commercial businesses. It will include working on pan-regional and global projects to support the firm’s key business themes.

The candidate will keep abreast of industry trends and news, provide communications counsel to senior management, create client segment specific marketing strategies and help position BlackRock as an industry thought leader in the media

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Think laterally about innovative and stakeholder-centric ways to deliver BlackRock content to relevant stakeholders through all marketing and communications channels, be it earned, owned or paid media.
  • Work effectively with senior management and business teams in Israel, sharing information and aligning marketing and communications activity. Develop strong internal relationships with key stakeholders within BlackRock's institutional and wealth and iShares businesses, sales and marketing teams.
  • Work closely with communications and marketing team members in New York, San Francisco, London and various European locations to build a local value proposition for BlackRock.
  • Manage issues that arise in Israel to help protect BlackRock’s reputation, working closely with senior management locally and Corporate Communications globally.
  • Build and/or maintain strong working relationships with news media (print/broadcast/web) including business/financial media, trade and national outlets.
  • Arrange and facilitate media interviews with trained spokespeople across the firm, ensuring the topic is defined and the spokesperson is briefed in advance with the relevant key messages.
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of media events, roundtables, press conferences and educational seminars.
  • Manage the handling of media enquiries in a timely and efficient manner, including the day to day activity of the PR agency for the region.
  • Leverage BlackRock positioning through the distribution of a full range of written materials (op-ed articles , reports relating to the business......) and scouting of relevant speaking opportunities .
  • Manage complex communications challenges and initiatives that intersect government affairs, communications and social responsibility
  • Develop a deep knowledge of BlackRock services and products. Develop solid understanding of BlackRock’s Investment Stewardship, Public Policy, Sustainable Investing and Investment Institute teams managing their thought leadership with the media on a proactive and reactive basis as appropriate.

Experience

  • Degree in business studies, economics, communications or professional qualification
  • 6 – 10 years’ experience in marketing with a strong background in corporate and crisis communications
  • Excellent spoken and written English language skills with Hebrew as a native language
  • Understanding of the wealth and institutional client segment
  • Financial product and investment knowledge, ideally in both the Active and Passive investment space
  • Proven track record of initiating and implementing marketing and communications campaigns
  • In-depth knowledge of the media landscape in Israel
  • Experience in an international environment or a period of overseas would be a plus
