Business Unit & Team Overview:

The Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) group provides independent oversight of BlackRock’s fiduciary and enterprise risks. RQA’s principal objectives are to advance the firm’s risk management practices and to deliver independent risk expertise and constructive challenge to drive better business and investment outcomes. In executing these objectives, RQA provides quantitative analysis to many of BlackRock’s businesses and helps promote the spread of best practices across the firm.

The RQA Strategic Projects & Operations (SPO) team works on key data-driven initiatives and provides customized analysis of investment performance for RQA across various investment teams. It also helps to significantly increase automation and productivity across RQA globally. Additionally, he team partners with Technology teams to develop the core platform with which to deploy algorithms robustly at scale.

Role Description:

The successful candidate will have strong technology and communication skills to partner with Technology teams to guide the integration of algorithms into the core BlackRock production environment. The candidate will also be responsible for platform development and upgrades, including requirements discussions, design, coding, unit/feature testing and working closely with the system architecture and test teams.

What you have:

  • A passion for applying quantitative techniques to real-world problems and being a student of the financial markets
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, process-oriented approach, teamwork and communication skills
  • 2+ years of programming experience in Python
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum mode of development
  • Experience with microservices with Kubernetes and docker experience
  • Hands on experience and knowledge of unix platform upgrades
  • Strong awareness and usage of Open source frameworks
  • An attention to detail, a strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a global team in fast paced environment
