Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Medical Degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of occupational health experience including program leadership and working in industrial environments.
  • Experience communicating with leadership and providing business justifications for occupational health solutions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certified Professional Ergonomist, Certified Industrial Hygienist.
  • Board Certified in Occupational Health, Residency in Occupational Health and board certified in Occupational Health.
  • Experience in development and support of fitness-for-duty programs.
  • Data center experience.
  • Data driven problem solving skills; ability to identify key issues, gather and analyze large complex data sets to support hypotheses and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to quickly understand new equipment, creative problem solving and ability to think outside the box.

About the job

As Data Center Global Occupational Health Program Lead, you will provide Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) leadership in the management of a global EHS occupational health program to enable our teams to work safely and efficiently. You will engage with all levels of employees and leadership to identify and mitigate risk throughout the life cycle of a product from concept to operations.

You will work with key stakeholders in engineering, operations, construction, and EHS to implement a comprehensive strategy that allows leaders to continuously evaluate program risks and opportunities, and then develop work plans to execute on agreed objectives. You will also create goals around continually improving all aspects of the global Data Center occupational health program to ensure we are protecting people (ergonomics, fitness for work, well-being, physical therapy).

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and strategy for Google Data Center (GDC) Occupational Health programs by developing robust solutions designed to mitigate defined occupational health risks associated with the Data centers across their lifecycle.
  • Engage with leadership across Global Capacity Delivery (GCD) and at Data Center (DC) sites to drive ergonomic improvements across the organization and throughout the DC lifecycle.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify global occupational health solutions.
  • Manage multiple programs and initiatives and report back regularly to leadership on progress and milestone accomplishment.
  • Travel up to 40% as needed.
