Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company. We are looking for a Product Designer to join the Jira Platform team. This platform team is made up of seasoned experts who currently deliver value to all the Jira family of products - fun, talented, hardworking who all enjoy playing and working together to define the future of work management. Jira Platform (JPLAT) is part of our Cloud Platform team that enables Atlassian products to create ways to help all teams to come together, collaborate, and control their workflows. This team is the foundation for Jira Service Management, Jira Software, Jira Core, Jira Align, and any future Atlassian product. We care deeply about enabling our products and customers to enable their teams to set up and configure projects, find, resume and move their work forward. We partner and collaborate with many product teams across Atlassian, ensure we are collecting their requirements and building an optimal experience for our customers across products. Would you love the opportunity of crafting customer experiences on our flagship product and impacting millions of users? To do so you will collaborate with teams across Atlassian consisting of product managers, designers, engineers, and architects to bring this vision to life. Your unique skills and toolkit will help bring empathy for our customers and drive more clarity to our decisions, processes & tools. You will be deeply involved in the entire design process from helping define vision and strategy through to final execution (yes, it will be shipped!). On your first day, we'll expect you will be able to:
- Hands-on professional experience as a UX Designer or Product Designer
- 3 - 6 years of relevant product design experience under your belt
- Work across the entire end-to-end design process, from very early-stage research and ideation to iteration and implementation
- A passion for design thinking methods with a deep understanding and a high degree of empathy and a focus on customer satisfaction
- Explore design problems and potential solutions to ensure we build the right and we build the thing right
- Solid research knowledge, i.e. you can define what user research needs to be done (and you're excited to do some yourself) and use existing findings in your work
- Facilitation, communication, and collaboration abilities, a flexible and friendly approach to working with teams, and the attitude to always strive for the best outcomes
- Work alongside a product manager, and engineers to optimize the experience for how customers interact with Jira experiences
- Bonus points for experience using Service Design as a means of improving end-to-end experiences
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Work on designing the core user experiences for JIRA, used by over 10M monthly active users
- Facilitate workshops with designers, engineers, product managers, and customers for potential solutions to the identified problems in the most effective way
- Design experiences that make complex tasks simple for our users, working in a B2B space with complex challenges
- Partner closely with other Jira product teams, Product Designers, Product Managers, Engineering & Program Management
