Clinical Business Requirements Support Analyst

Key Role:

Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program as Clinical Business Requirements Support. Provide clinical and business requirements development support to OEHRM leveraging requirements management policies, processes, and tools. Work with multiple stakeholders, including VA staff and EHR vendor, to gather, analyze, and validate existing and emerging requirements. Apply Cerner expertise to workflow development and requirements and support translation of Cerner capabilities and nomenclature to enable VA understanding in partnership with the Solution Expert. Provide support to the Council Admins and members by assisting in the current state workflow and requirements analysis. Review DoD lessons learned, help incorporate findings into VA workflows, identify potential risks and pain points in the workflows, and help map VA staff roles to Cerner security roles. Assist in the review of training manuals and job aids delivered by Cerner and support the designing cutover, go live planning, and post go live effort.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a professional work environment
  • Experience with commercial or federal healthcare medical facility processes or systems
  • Experience managing functional validation and end user testing for EHR, including Cerner, and integrated third party solutions
  • Ability to identify necessary interfaces between enterprise solution applications and legacy IT environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Health IT, or Informatics or 15+ years experience in a professional work environment in lieu of a degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with Cerner EHR
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
  • Experience in a Healthcare setting in Clinical or Revenue Cycle departments
  • Ability to communicate with clinical, financial and technical stakeholders
