The BAE Systems F35 Lightning II program has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Systems Engineer to create requirements; design, develop, and execute algorithms; perform data analysis on raw flight data; and design and develop prognostic performance dashboards related to Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) and Force Life Management (FLM) data.
The successful candidate is knowledgeable in systems engineering methods and software engineering standards, ensuring the delivery of quality solutions into the field for maintenance of F-35 aircraft. The candidate is responsible for front end and back end development of a homegrown dashboard in Python, DB work (SQL in Oracle), automated unit testing and builds, customer collaboration to understand requirements, and documentation of Requirements Development, Design, Development, and Integration and Test.
About BAE Software Operations and Data Analysis Processes and Services (DAPS):
BAE Systems F-35 Software Operations DAPS leads the innovative and creative effort in developing fleet-maintenance solutions and data analytics capability for the F-35 program. Become part of the team that leads and manages the systems and software engineering effort in collaboration with BAE Systems Software Operations UK. Work closely with Lockheed Martin, develop and deliver optimized software solutions within a governed quality management system.
Job duties include systems architecture requirements and analysis, design/mechanization, and design reviews with dedicated software and systems engineering team members.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
• 6 years’ work or equivalent experience
• Extensive background in software development
• Advanced Python development experience
• Experience with Software and Systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools
• Experience performing Software testing, validation, and verification activities
• Possess strong problem solving skills that translate to functional software
• Proficient with source code control
• Self-Starter, Self-Sufficient, Independent
