Position Summary

The Business Analyst function is business facing to the global R&D organization and is responsible for ensuring IT plans and strategies are aligned with their business goals and that global R&D is maximizing the effective use of technology and innovation in its business practices. R&D background is a major plus; specifically working within the following disciplines: Clinical, Packaging, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, Innovation, Planning, Product Development

The Sr. Analyst, Business Analyst directs and guides a team in the operational and strategic analysis of new and existing business opportunities and projects. This requires ongoing, proactive interaction with global R&D leaders and users while providing consistent communication with various IT functions. There is a key focus on managing the relationship with the business at both a strategic and portfolio level to ensure the IT organization has early insight into changing business directions in order to inform and shape IT demand.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Gathers data and analyzes business and user needs
  • Creates requirements documents, use cases, user stories, workflows, wireframes and mockups within traditional SDLC and/or Agile frameworks.
  • Works closely with managers and end users to determine best IT solutions
  • Recommends controls by identifying problems, writing improved procedures.
  • Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users.
  • Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Help coordinate functional and user acceptance testing.
  • Builds collaborative relationships with the business and vendors to ensure synergistic partnership
  • Drives new areas of integration - process, technology, or people - to achieve end to end efficiency
  • Proposing business processes improvements which enhance user’s experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience.
