Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Project Manager, Strategic & Initiatives to work remotely within our footprint states: AK, CA, MT, OR, TX and/or WA.

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager, Strategic Partnerships & Initiatives, who will be responsible for supporting regional teams, the Enterprise Care Management and Coordination (ECMC) team and the Population Health division, in advancing key strategic initiatives and projects in support of Providence's Medicaid Improvement and other key Population Health Management initiatives. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for providing strategic project management to support regional and system-wide population health initiatives, continuous performance improvement efforts and learning collaboratives and/or workgroups.

This position will individually lead/manage both direct and virtual teams from concept phase through transition to operations of cross-functional and cross-regional system partnerships, initiatives and/or projects of varying size and complexity. The position requires superior organizational and communication skills, a high level of collaboration, and an ability to coordinate activities and move initiatives forward in partnership with our customers and stakeholders. This position fills a key position as a strategic partner to Population Health, system and regional leaders, flexibly responding to needs and enhancing the internal capability within the organization to develop and drive change, facilitate alignment and create measurable impact for the communities served.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Leads the development of ECMC and regionally chartered Population Health projects/initiatives of varying levels of complexity from planning phase through transition to operations using combination of project management, change management, facilitation, and business management expertise.
  • Works with ECMC and regional leaders to develop and document charters, objectives and metrics, action plans, stakeholder engagement and communication plans, and monitoring systems. Ensures tracking of deliverables, objectives and outcomes for each project, including project status reporting to key stakeholders and sponsors.
  • Sets up and leads multi-disciplinary work teams to deliver on key deliverables and deadlines. Ensures effective communication, training, and post-implementation support strategies are created and implemented among all stakeholder groups.
  • Responsible for positive relationship management with project team members, as well as assisting teams.
  • Facilitates complex decision-making among multiple stakeholders with varying priorities, while using a tailored approach to meet the needs of the stakeholder(s), ensuring solutions are both sustainable and scalable.
  • Engages stakeholders in solving problems of varying complexity, strategic priority and visibility. Utilizes change management and performance improvement tools. Builds awareness and commitment to the change effort, and leads the ongoing communications and alignment of stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Identifies, gathers, and analyzes all pertinent data, research and/or information necessary to help make recommendations, inform decisions and accomplish project goals. Processes information quickly and can translate and communicate clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • Assists in the development of key deliverables, as needed.
  • Conducts post-initiative assessments and makes recommendations for improvement based on those assessments.
  • Stays aligned with and shares best practices with other members of the ECMC team as a way of improving upon the collective development of team members.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as required and assigned

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, Social Work or related discipline or equivalent experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • 5 years Project management, consulting, health planning, and/or business analysis experience. Experience in managing virtual teams.
  • 3 years Experience in healthcare operations for an understanding of the nature of the work performed.
  • Strong project management experience, including development of work plans, metrics, and monitoring processes.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in leading cross-functional and virtual teams for strategically-essential system initiatives with varying complexity.
  • Some experience that demonstrates effectiveness in accomplishing objectives in a complex organization.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, Social Work, or related discipline or equivalent experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Project Management Professional
  • Performance improvement experience using a variety of performance improvement tools.
  • Change management, facilitation, or process improvement methodologies with substantial project management experience of complex, multi-regional, strategically important initiatives.
