Job Description

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant at a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Experience in legal analysis and research.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in agreement drafting.
  • Experience with legal operations, such as process, systems, and policies.
  • Experience working as a Paralegal, Contracts Manager or Negotiator, or Legal Assistant.
  • Ability to interpret legal documents, negotiate agreements, and work with attorneys to complete agreements.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, or Korean fluently in order to communicate and review agreements as a liaise with multiple stakeholders APAC wide.

From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, Technical Infrastructure makes Google's product portfolio possible. As part of the legal team supporting Technical Infrastructure, you will help the Engineers navigate the legal challenges associated with taking on some of technology's greatest challenges, helping build everything from machine learning accelerators, networks capable of delivering hours of Youtube videos a day, to energy and cost-efficient data centers. You will work closely with our Technical Infrastructure legal group that manages legal review for issues and commercial transactions relating to Google’s global network acquisition, hardware platforms, and data center maintenance and operations. Technical Infrastructure builds the hardware and systems that power Google’s services, meaning that you'll be exposed to practically every department throughout Google. You'll advise our business clients on the various legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to commercial agreements, and you'll also assist with the continuous development of the commercial team and its processes.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage procedures and structures to efficiently manage high volumes of inbound agreements, orders, and Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements, services agreements, licenses, and SOWs.
  • Advise business clients on the legal issues and risks, complex agreement structures, approval processes, company policies and procedures and ensure compliance with Google’s policies and risk tolerance.
  • Respond promptly to legal requests from business clients, summarizing and communicating legal concepts that business clients can use.
