The successful candidate will bring an ability to prioritize, to communicate clearly and compellingly, and to understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence building and leveraging a strong team. Our Directors drive their organizations to continuously contribute to evolving the Schwab experience and technology.

What you are good at

This is a senior technology leadership role managing the software development lifecycle including the coordination, prioritization, and communication across Business, Product and Technology teams. It will include designing, building, and executing a Salesforce strategy supporting lines of business across the Schwab Enterprise.

The role includes the hands-on management of both full-time employees and contractors including the vendor relationships with partner firms in the US and India. The role encompasses establishing and directing the strategic and tactical goals for the teams, building a client-driven technology organization improving the software quality, platform, and technology service provided.

In addition to the functional responsibilities within the technology organization, to be successful in this role the leader will need to build a strong partnership with our Product Management teams and drive delivery with an eye to strategy, cost and timeline.

What you have

This role requires a highly motivated, organized, and experienced business-focused technology leader with a proven record of software delivery in a complex organizational setting.

Qualifications & Experience

• A degree from a well-respected academic institution in software engineering or a similar discipline
• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• 6+ years of experience leading delivery teams across technology disciplines
• Extensive experience managing the software development lifecycle leveraging the latest methodologies and industry applicable technologies including agile and scrum development, continuous delivery, and public cloud architecture
• Strong Salesforce Platform product knowledge and demonstratable delivery leadership experience (e.g., CRM, Marketing Cloud)
• Extensive experience leading solution delivery teams inclusive of scope, scheduling, budgeting and project planning in an environment with aggressive delivery goals and product launches.
• Proven record of delivering technology solutions within agreed upon budgets and timeframes
• Substantiated experience raising the bar on staff delivery performance and cultivating high performance work environments with integrated multi-disciplinary teams.
• Significant experience transforming teams through technology, organization, culture, process and business change management

• Ability to work hands on with team members to inspire and motivate all levels of staff towards both tactical and strategic delivery goals
• Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional organization providing holistic leadership and management to deliver on the product objectives
• Ability to drive change with external counterparties and vendors, managing and enhancing relationships and services provided
• Outstanding performer, persistent and pro-active leader, detailed oriented, and driven to exceed expectations
• Skilled communicator and negotiator with strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
