About the Role
The Rooms team owns the systems that power Envoy’s conference room scheduling product. As a backend engineer on this team, you’ll help bring the Rooms product out of beta and deliver an experience that thousands of customers use every day. A successful engineer in this role is a generalist who enjoys operating in multiple languages across different codebases—from backend (Python/Kotlin) to mobile (iOS/Android) to frontend web.Our Rooms product strives to create a seamless and technology-forward work experience that enables employees to do their best work, together. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to achieve this goal.
You Will
- Help us re-launch our Rooms product and scale its usage to tens of thousands of customers
- Shift the mindset: Envoy is transforming from product to platform. Your work will create the building blocks that will enable developers to build next generation technology into their workplace.
- Design core backend software components that support our Rooms product
- Drive engineering projects to completion. You will be an advocate for quality while keeping up with aggressive deadlines.
- Be an advocate for the end-user, whether they are an Envoy customer or external developer
- Be a thought leader in the engineering organization, driving definitions of best practices
- Conduct technical design and code reviews, share your knowledge and experience organization wide
You Have
- Enjoy working on products that are used every day by people around the world
- Are comfortable with ambiguity and can leverage your experience to make rock-solid engineering and product decisions
- Appreciate a fast-paced environment that values iteration
- Have designed large scale, performant server applications
- Appreciate good API design and have authored APIs that are exposed to external developers
- Have worked with legacy systems and are adept at implementing quick, meaningful improvements
