Summary

The Commercial Banking Relationship Manager manages and grows a large and complex portfolio of commercial loans. S/he prospects for and closes new business relationships and retains and expands relationships with existing customers. The incumbent sells appropriate Company products and services to those prospects and clients, identifying and successfully capitalizing on cross-sell opportunities and making appropriate referrals. The Commercial Banking Relationship Manager provides financial advice to customers. Approves loans within assigned limits, managing loan and portfolio credit quality.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Acts as coverage banker for Sr. RM
  • Assists Sr. RM in the growth of clients
  • Assists in the management of loan & portfolio credit quality
  • Grows revenue as directed by senior management by successfully prospecting new business and making appropriate referrals
  • Maintains portfolio by calling on existing customers to expand existing business, ensure excellent client relations & proper servicing of account(s)
  • Negotiates credit arrangements and prepare credit memoranda and supporting documentation for presentation to the loan committee
  • Responsible for generation of pitch books for Sr. RM
  • Responsible for handling some clients on their own.,Serves a conduit for all product lines and matches client needs with appropriate products

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience - Business, Finance, Economics, or equivalent field
  • 5-9 years of relevant work experience in commercial credit, analysis and business development
  • Experience with and ability to prospect and network at various levels within a company
  • Demonstrates ability to be self-starter and show initiative
  • Demonstrates ability to manage time effectively to balance new & existing relationships to meet goals
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of bank products, services, and bank operations
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of credit underwriting
  • Expertise in Commercial Loan structure and documentation
  • Strong comfort and familiarity with use and application of commercial lending principles
  • Strong knowledge of Commercial Line of Business
