What you are good at


The individual will manage a team of middleware engineers and ensure solutions are designed and implemented in a manner which meets all business requirements as well as maintains alignment to all applicable technology and quality standards.

  • Technology Strategy
    • Maintain organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting your teams strategy to align with broader Mobile Technology strategy
    • Be responsible for putting together technology roadmap and partnering with business on the business roadmap.
  • Deliver value and maintain Ops Excellence
    • Deliver business and technology commitments in a timely fashion.
    • Verify application results by conducting system quality audits of technologies implemented.
    • Preserve software assets by ensuring the team’s adherence to disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
    • Recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
    • Ensure that the applications are available as per SLAs, that monitoring is in place and implement process/tools changes as needed
    • Support the Production support group and ensure that run books are updated constantly
  • Technical skills
    • Mobile Application or Web Application solution design experience in order to lead solution delivery
    • Partnering with Technical directors and other technology partners on application architecture and design
    • Direct and lead technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
  • Hiring and retaining top talent
    • Screen and hire high-performing, talented and passionate Mobile application developers.
    • Build and maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Leadership and team management skills
    • Manage a team of full time Mobile developers, contractors and offshore resources
    • Communicate to staff about job expectations; plan, monitor, and appraise job results;
    • Coaching and mentoring employees
    • Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

What you have


  • Experience as a technical lead, coaching and mentoring a diverse, geographically-distributed team of Application developers. Must be a good leader, guide and support the team, business and technology partners with solution development.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with application development, Middleware development or Solution architecture building complex, resilient and highly scalable applications in a large enterprise. Experience with Mobile applications is highly desirable
  • Good understanding of strategic and new and emerging technology trends and be able to implement them
  • Must have good understanding of technical issues, designs, and engineering best practices
  • Understanding of agile methods and processes, and capability of supporting agile project teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt
  • Organizationally savvy, with a good understanding of the enterprise's political climate and how to navigate, influence and persuade political waters
  • The candidate will be expected to monitor production support queues, be available on-call, assist in resolving production issues as well as help identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Must have experience with strategic planning, developing and managing budget, coaching & mentoring technical team members
  • Skillful in problem solving and cross-organization collaboration
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • 3+ years of experience in Financial Services Industry is preferred.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
