Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week.

About the GM Global Manufacturing IT team:
- Transforms new automotive product designs into reality and is comprised of approximately 5000 employees at over 150+ locations across 20 countries.
- ME is a key element in the transformation toward Electric Vehicles in General Motors and ME works throughout the Vehicle and Propulsion Development Process starting with manufacturing feasibility analysis, through process and tooling design and construction, and culminating in the launch of exciting new products in our manufacturing plants.
- The GM ME Information Technology (IT) team plays a vital role in creating and implementing IT solutions which enable the development, validation and manufacturing of Electric Vehicles and Propulsion Systems using sophisticated 3D CAD, simulation, and business analytical technologies, enabling the digital manufacturing process and system design prior to physical builds, and enabling virtual assessments of processes prior to the launch of the product in a manufacturing plant and integrate seamlessly with production critical Manufacturing (Mfg) Executions Systems.
- The electrification of our propulsion systems is driving additional requirements including high speed manufacturing for both discrete and process manufacturing. ME IT collaborates closely with our business partners to develop the information system strategies and systems to translate breakthrough technologies into vehicles and experiences that people love.

About the role:
This Senior Manufacturing Business Analyst (BA) will act as a liaison between a Manufacturing Engineering Center and the GM Information Technology (IT) development and operations support teams to lead IT innovation delivering new business capabilities, substantial business value and support the transformation of GM to Zero, Zero, Zero.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the Manufacturing Engineering IT Business Facing representative to all Manufacturing Engineering Centers leading identification and execution of IT projects for a functional area.
- Conduct effective project updates for ME Center executives and user groups in a timely manner.
- Assess business and technology opportunities and threats.
- Develop IT Portfolio project proposals including comprehensive cost and benefit analysis.
- Develop, collaborate, and communicate IT Strategies, Plans, and Roadmaps.
- Lead requirements elicitation and documentation for a significant segment of the business - multiple projects or a major program.
- Drive the adoption of key IT innovation concepts.
- Define functional and non-functional requirements, produce feasibility reports and collaboration on solution designs to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Strive to engage in emerging technology assessments assessing value opportunities for the ME and Manufacturing business.
- Support and communicate on-site and remotely with the global user base across various time zones (North America, South America, and Asia).
- Develop documentation such as project plans, product features, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, test cases, speeds and feeds, detailed specifications, security requirements, user guide documentation, and training.
- Follow through with commitments to meeting quality and schedule and cultivate mutual trust with leadership, fellow employees, and users.
- Demonstrate outstanding people leadership skills including ability to advise a team and mentor individuals.
- Be responsible for the product feature backlog in collaboration with the GM IT Development team.
- Support the agile development of work.
- Maintain regular contact with partners. Coordinate and report on project progress, obstacles and accomplishments.
- Handle requirement changes. Collaborate with end users, project managers, and technical leads to ensure the changes are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Lead events including the prioritizations, customer concern and closure of identified issues
- Interact with Project Teams to supervise project progress, identify risks, communicate risks and status, and assess potential impacts to the business.
- Efficiently handle priorities of work you're doing for multiple projects with multiple due dates.
- Assist the business with IT problem and/or incident resolution.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in large scale enterprise wide IT system development & implementations
- Experience eliciting, writing and handling product features, user requirements and user stories along with detailed acceptance criteria and test cases
- Experience documenting business processes using industry best practices and standard tools (flowcharts, activity/interaction diagrams)
- Experience conducting User Acceptance Testing, including test planning, test execution, and defect management/resolution
- Experience in Data Structuring, Data Management and Reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical subject area, preferably in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent experience are required.
- 7+ years of business analysis within information technology
- Ability to build and navigate networks
- The role may require some limited global travel.
Preferred Skill Set / Experience:
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience in database query with the ability to create database queries to validate current production data against acceptance data for UAT test results.
- Understanding of SQL Queries for the purposes of data conversion, migration and ad-hoc reporting
- Knowledge of data structures, data base design, data warehouses, business intelligence/analytic tools, ETL tools, and data integration methods
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, Iterative, and/or Waterfall development and project methodologies
- Experience in global manufacturing and/or engineering business operations, Automotive Manufacturing Engineering, or emerging technologies
