As Product Manager within our Advanced Networking and Cybersecurity (ANCS) business, you will support a family of rugged communications systems for Expeditionary employment by DoD, including hardware and software goods and services. Primary to the role is assessing market needs by working with BD and potential and current customers to identify opportunities followed by defining, developing, and deploying products that meet those needs and address those opportunities. Additionally, you will contribute to the planning for product evolution and further development as needed to maintain the product’s success in the market. The individual must be able to develop compelling, unique and effective value positions to bring to market, demonstrate strong business acumen, and develop effective product strategies with a clear understanding of the marketplace. The Deputy Product Manager will assist in the formulation of business cases/plans for the products and execute the business plan for the product throughout the product lifecycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Convey the product vision effectively both internally and to the market based upon feedback from the market
- Spend time with customers and BD to understand customer problems, observing customers firsthand whenever possible, especially observing product use by customers in real-world activities
- Lead multidisciplinary team(s) across the product/service line for the entire portfolio of responsibilities through a collaborative, positive, business/market-driven leadership style that is oriented toward the longer view vs. short term gain/profitability
- Analyze market data, product-specific sales, margin, demographics and competitive product releases and pricing strategies for assigned product lines
- Drive roadmap, strategy, and requirements management processes to drive the right priorities for the product while properly documenting market and product requirements
- Monitor key metrics for the product and drive actions through the product team to achieve and maintain product success through defined product success criteria
- Identify, understand and mitigate product vulnerabilities in current product/service releases and guide the mitigation/minimization/elimination of those vulnerabilities in future product/service releases
- Support the development of marketing communication plans
- Support the management of the product/division branding strategy
- Support BD/sales personnel on sales/marketing/training activities in their markets as needed
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or technical area, or equivalent experience
- 6+ years demonstrated sales, marketing, program management, engineering or other relevant business experience
- Strong sense of urgency, with a demonstrated commitment to providing unequaled customer service
- Demonstrated strong analytical, financial and strategic skills
- Proven track record of successfully managing cross-functional teams in complex projects
- Ability to lead through influence and mobilize individuals in and outside of Product Management to achieve business goals (including superior “soft” skills)
- Highly energetic, positive attitude individual with strong interpersonal skills
- Experience in pricing, roadmaps, and product strategy
- U.S. Government position, U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
- Up to 25% travel
Preferences :
- MBA or significant demonstrated business leadership experience
- Product management experience
- Military experience working with Special Operations and/or Expeditionary Forces
- Experience using Link 16 and other tactical networking waveforms and applications
- Current active Secret clearance / Ability to gain a TS/SCI clearance
- Working knowledge of cost/managerial accounting
- Previous operations experience
