Responsibilities:

This role supports Lilly’s state-of-the-art RTP manufacturing facility. The HR Business Partner will be critical to ensure that the RTP People Strategy is implemented effectively, including how we attract new employees, educate our employees, set clear expectations with our team members, and fully engage our team members.

It requires the ability to work effectively with site leadership, manage data and projects, support HR processes, and support HR interventions for the site. Personal characteristics required for the role include leadership, the ability to deal with ambiguity, ability to analyze and manage data, ability to see connections across the organization, compassion, kindness, and the ability to use good HR judgment.

  • Business Partnership
    • Run annual HR processes for the site such as the Annual Compensation Review, Technical Promotions, Performance Management, and Quarterly Talent Review preparation
    • Act as local employee relations tiering to support managers and supervisors in dealing with employee issues
    • Support managers with HR Information Systems questions (using Workday)
    • Develop strong relationships with HR central team partners (i.e. Compensation, HR technology, HR centralized employee call centers) to ensure that RTP support is strong
  • Reporting, Metrics, and Performance Tracking
    • Run and track weekly headcount metrics, including hiring-to-plan, diversity and inclusion, compensation competitiveness, and site capacity modeling
    • Work with finance to collect and consolidate headcount as part of the Strategic Planning & Business Planning processes
    • Provide reporting on key metrics to Lilly MFG leadership, Site leadership, and HR leadership
    • Maintain the site organizational chart, staffing model
  • Site Projects
    • Work with RTP HR Site Lead to support high priority projects and/or initiatives for the site as needed (examples include recruiting plan, culture, onboarding) Opportunity to build HR systems
    • Ensure that all relevant Compliance processes are in place, including federal regulations for worker safety, compliance, hiring practices, and others as needed
    • Ensure that materials are available to support local RTP managers in accessing local and corporate HR resources
  • Onboarding
    • Run and maintain/improve the HR portion of the employee onboarding process including:
      • Introduction to Lilly policies and Procedures
      • Introduction to RTP employee practices
      • Introduction to key HR systems and processes
      • Execution of I-9 processing
    • Ensure that new employees are engaged through warm welcomes, mentorship assignments, and engaged in all key site meetings
    • Own and improve site onboarding tools for our managers to quickly and easily onboard new team members
  • Recruiting
    • Support the site recruiter in any recruiting needs as capacity allows, especially in sourcing candidates, supporting events, and managing campaigns

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years of HR experience in recruiting, staffing, HR partnership, and/or employee relations.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Demonstrated leadership/influence in HR related initiatives
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working across all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of key HR processes
  • Familiar with diversity, inclusion, and equity strategies to engage employees
  • Project management skills; flexibility and versatility in managing projects and workload
  • Understanding of common HR policies, compliance rules/regulations and procedures
  • SHRM or PHR certification
  • Business acumen
  • Strong computer skills (esp. Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity and to "connect the dots"
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze data
  • Demonstrated strong organization skills
