Senior Engineering Technologist

Job Description BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Engineering Technologist to join their fast-paced Engineering team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. You will be supporting a wide variety of tasks in the day-to-day operation within an Engineering Lab.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, and/or electromechanical areas. Constructs, troubleshoots, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Operates related equipment: conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs engineering modifications of CCAs including but not limited to: replacing SMT ICs, BGAs, cutting traces, adding jumper wires, installing dead-bugged components. Assists with managing four engineering lab spaces in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

• The ability to obtain a DoD SECRET Security clearance is required
• 8+ year experience with HS Diploma (6+ w/ AS, 4+ w/ BS)
• Experience working with military and/or flight certified (safety of flight) hardware
• Experience working with small SMT components down to size 0201
• Experience working with fine-pitch SMT components TSSOP, VSSOP
• Experience working with schematics, assembly drawings, and engineering modification instructions
• May require occasional travel to customer sites or contract manufacturers to support programs
• IPC Solder Certification
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
• Familiarity with technology and labs

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Active DoD SECRET Security clearance
• Experience working with hot air machines and replacing BGAs
• Experience reviewing product designs and contributing to DFMAs
• Experience with managing labs or assisting with lab management
• JSTD Certified Trainer
