The Role:
As a member of the Project Management Team, this role will manage all aspects of assigned projects to assure timely implementation of all project deliverables and manage key stakeholders’ expectations through regular communications. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to succeed in a fast paced, fluid environment, while ensuring that project initiatives are met. Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
- Secures senior leadership sponsorship of projects and approval of objectives. Keeps business leadership apprised of project status and developments.
- Responsible for authoring project plans (using tools such as Microsoft Project, ProjectManager.com, Smartsheet), Project Charters, Statement of Works, Work Breakdown Structures, Risk Mitigation plans, Quality Plans, and System Acceptance Test plans.
- Responsible for project change orders, contract management, and driving internal stakeholders for project deliverables as defined by the project’s requirements.
- Identify and manage critical dependencies between programs to ensure alignment of activities and resources.
- Establish and maintains program management plans, budget, and benefits expected from the project/program
- Establishes S.M.A.R.T metrics to track project/program progress, team engagement, and results against key targets.
- Supports project deployment teams with skills in process excellence, project management, facilitation, problem solving, accelerating transformation and value creation to drive toward required outcomes.
- Drive project/program team to engage in the development and execution of integrated project plans, including implementation schedules and resource estimates to ensure a consistent approach for the project/program.
- Drive project/program team to develop readiness assessments, communication plan, sponsor & champion roles, coaching plan, training plan and release management plan.
- Prudent escalation of issues with capacity, pacing, resourcing, and any other red flag issues needing risk mitigation.

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
- Minimum of 10 years project/program management experience is required. Relevant experience in a similar field or Xylem experience will be considered
- Candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (CS, ME, IE, EE, IS). MS degree or MBA preferred. Relevant education and experience will be considered.
- PMP certification
- Proven project management experience with management of various sized teams and diverse suppliers.
- Must be highly organized, detail oriented and adopt a structured working method but with the ability to react quickly to change.
- Must be proficient with computer hardware and software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio) experience with Google Earth Pro is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required, coupled with an ability to build strong collaborative relationships across departmental boundaries.
- Cultural awareness and ability to adapt communication style when working with customers.
- A confident, positive, and flexible leadership style, with the ability to network with a range of stakeholders and to work collaboratively with senior managers.
- Ability to drive the project team and customer to meet delivery schedules within budget and with complete customer satisfaction.

- Able to travel to support project needs when required (25 to 50%)
As a Program Manager you will be expected to:
- Mentor other Project Managers to encourage growth and focus on areas that require specific attention (i.e., public speaking, leadership, presence, etc....). Additionally, mentor to drive accountability both internal and external
- Identify areas of improvement (both regionally and holistically), help develop and implement plan.
- Work across interdepartmental disciplines such as RF and Application engineering to guarantee customer outcomes.
- Work closely with the sales team to help present our deployment services during pre-sales meetings.
- Work with the numerous different Sensus / Xylem departments to build synergy, drive change and increase cross functional collaboration.
- Identify field challenges, both functional and process, help identify solutions and most importantly, drive those changes back into the company.
- Work closely with the more complex projects / programs to ensure each project and effort within the program is successful.
