Job Description

Imperva is looking for a Sales Engineer (SE) to join our world class sales engineering team. Imperva is a pioneer and leader in business security solutions for critical applications and high-value data. This Sales Engineer (SE) will be part of the Emerging Technologies Group, a team focused on growth initiatives within Global Sales Engineering, and will have the opportunity to work with Imperva's emerging technologies and support sales efforts around the world. The ideal candidate is creative, has a hunger to learn and contributes to revenue generating activities within Imperva. They work closely with other SEs, marketing, product management, sales managers, prospects and partners as a subject-matter expert to demonstrate the value Imperva and how a proposed solution meets and exceeds customer requirements.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Learn and use new technologies quickly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams on go to market activities.
  • Create pre-sales content that serves internal and external audiences.
  • Drive technical and non-technical initiatives that support revenue generating activities.
  • Maintain and contribute to knowledge base, thought leadership, and other pre-sales assets related to emerging technologies.
  • Single handedly use technology to enable a business outcome.
  • Work Independently and as a vital member of the sales team.
  • Possess demonstrable skills in customer-centric selling and a proven track record using it to help drive revenue.
  • Participate as a technical resource at trade shows and conferences, when needed.
Qualifications:
  • This is a fully remote opportunity but candidates must reside in North America
  • BA/BS degree where math, computer science, programming was used as part of earning the degree – REQUIRED
  • 2+ years of experience in cyber security pre-sales engineering, or real world use of web application/API/database solutions;
  • Comfortable with enterprise (including cloud) IT infrastructure and delivery application models
  • Comfortable with web application development (e.g. REST APIs, JavaScript, HTML, Python, PHP, Java, .NET) and database technologies (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Oracle, Snowflake, etc)
  • Comfortable with scripting/programming (e.g. R, python, JavaScript, Lua, etc)
  • Experience with Linux and Windows administration
  • Compliance standards knowledge (PCI, SOX, HIPAA) – an advantage
  • Start-up experience is a plus
  • Able to effectively present technical material to small and large groups
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written, oral communication and strong interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and overseas when travel resumes.
