Swedish Medical Center is looking for an On Call Physical Therapist (Per Diem FTE / On Call, Day Shift) to work in Inpatient Rehab Services at Swedish Issaquah in Issaquah, WA. The physical therapist (PT) delivers and supervises others in the delivery of therapy services. Services are delivered within the framework of a team approach, appropriate disciplines, significant others, and the patient. These services are delivered in compliance with ethical standards, policies and procedures, national and professional standards, state practice acts for physical therapists, and current accepted state of the art practice. In this position you will: - Patient Care: • Demonstrates complex problem solving skills in both patient care and department operations. • Performs patient assessment/reassessment. Establishes plan of care with the patient, which is appropriate to the patient's needs and allows for informed consent or refusal. • Assesses educational needs of the patient, family, caregiver or significant other and provides education to meet those needs. • Provides interventions based upon accepted standards of practice. Progresses/modifies interventions to maximize outcomes within accepted guidelines • Focuses on skilled interventions including referral to other disciplines as appropriate. • Patients are adequately prepared for and discharged in a timely fashion. - Documentation: • Documentation meets regulatory requirements, departmental standards, and considers reimbursement needs. Documents on day of visit, usually at time of visit. • Goals are functional, measurable, time-based, and are addressed continually. • Documents are complete, concise and legible. • Billing is submitted in a timely, accurate and legible fashion. • Timely completion of discharge paperwork is routine. - Time Management/Efficiency: • Carries out assigned responsibilities in a timely and complete manner, using appropriate judgment and detail. • Productivity consistently meets department standards. • Effectively and appropriately handles urgent/emergent situations as they arise. • Actively manages caseload to minimize no-shows, cancellations and refusals. - Professional Behaviors: • Supervises students as assigned. • Responds to requests in a positive and helpful manner. • Takes initiative to identify and resolve problems, and is pro-active in facilitating operational improvement. • Takes initiative to assist other team members and functions as a resource as appropriate. • Participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives. Services are delivered within the framework of a team approach, including appropriate disciplines, significant others and the patient. Provision of care for pediatric adolescent orthopedic patients may be required. Coverage of both inpatient and outpatient services may be required at the Ballard and Issaquah clinics. These services are delivered in compliance with ethical standards, policies and procedures, national and professional standards, state practice acts, and current accepted state of the art practice. Qualifications:
Required qualifications this position include: Education: Coursework/Training A graduate of an accredited program of physical therapy. License/Certification: • Possesses valid Washington physical therapy license, interim permit or temporary permit. • BLS required. Experience: None required.
