Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Experience with 2D graphics APIs or tools.
  • Experience with profiling and optimizing C/C++ code.

This team is responsible for a vector graphics library targeting resource-constrained and/or embedded systems. They aim to enable Google devices to stand out by providing designers and engineers with high-quality vector graphics in a lightweight and performant package suitable for highly resource-constrained environments.

Responsibilities

  • Process feature development starting from design and ending with deployment in the customer’s hardware.
  • Enable customer-facing features/improvements and architect core graphics infrastructure.
  • Bootstrap graphics and test infrastructure on system on a chip development kits and internal prototype hardware.
  • Code in C/C++ with embedded toolchains in eSkia sources, as well as directly in the customer's product code (i.e. Android/WearOS).
