Job Description
Job Description The BAE Systems site in Louisville, Kentucky is seeking a Quality Engineering Manager - NDT & Calibration. In this role, the Quality Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the site's NDT and Calibration programs.
- Creates and monitors NDT and Calibration performance metrics
- Participates in NC RCCAs, PFMEAs, CAPs, and other continuous improvement activities to support site profitability
- Reviews program scope of work to ensure site NDT and Calibration capabilities meet customer requirements, as needed
- Supports ISO, AS, and any other required internal and external quality certification audits along with DCMA, International Defense, and commercial customer external audits
- Supports Government Property audit/status process
- Participates in procedure and work instruction development/review, as required
- Leads team of NDT and calibration lab technician union employees in the day to day activities
- Reviews and approves employee timecards and vacations
- Ensures employee training is up to date
- Collaborates with site and/or multi-site Level III NDT SME(s) and adheres to their developed policies, procedures, and work instructions
Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Typically requires a bachelors degree and six (6) years experience, or the overall equivalent;
- ASNT NDT Level II certified or ability to achieve certification in the first year of employment;
- Working hands on experience with various NDE methods (VT, MT (dry & liquid fluorescent), PT);
- Working knowledge of various NDE methods (UT, PAUT, RT, etc...);
- Working knowledge of calibration program management;
- Working hands on experience calibrating dimensional measurement tools and testing equipment;
- Computer skills to include MS Office Suite and industry related software.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Bachelor of Science in Welding, Metallurgical, or Mechanical Engineering;
- ASNT NDT Level II or III certified;
- TipQA database use knowledge;
- GIDEP navigation and use knowledge.
