Your Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Building the Business Unit:
- Accountable for the success of the Marketing and Sales Team
- Utilises a deep understanding of the ecosystem, patient journey and payor needs to define and build an effective Business Unit
- Main contact point internally and externally for the Business Unit
- Inspires the Business Unit to develop and utilise patient and customer understanding to challenge and innovate within their own roles and the wider AZ environment to ensure that AZ delivers innovative medications to patients
- Ensures that strong external relationships within the ecosystem are built and maintained with healthcare professionals, payors and patient Groups
- Identifies the roles and capabilities required for success within the Business Unit and drives the recruitment of high calibre individuals
- Builds high performing teams, ensuring that as we recruit and enlarge our teams we create a culture focused on excellence in recruiting, Training, development, and performance management
- Works with the SMT to develop the short- to long-term AZ strategy to ensure portfolio success
Shaping, developing & implementing Business Unit Strategy:
- Translates the Global strategic long-term vision for AZ into a highly effective country plan that defines and delivers ‘value’ at multiple Levels
- Provides expert insight and direction across the portfolio to ensure that all launches and line extensions within are expertly managed to deliver success
- Defines and effectively communicates above brand therapy area strategies, ensuring that these platforms deliver success across the AZ portfolio for brands and patients and truly establish the AZ Marketing Company as a leader within the local and global ecosystem
- Ensures operational implementation of the country plans, analysing, anticipating and, where possible, shaping marketplace changes whilst identifying and maximising new growth opportunities
Leadership and Capability Development across the Business Unit:
- Leads the Sales and Marketing Team
- Inspires and leads the capability development for BU teams and individuals
- Ensures that an innovative and cross-function account planning and customer engagement strategy is implemented and monitored for
- Ensures effective performance management, talent management, recruitment & succession planning
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- High Degree level qualification ideally in science/medicine, an additional Post-graduate/MBA level qualification would be an asset.
- English knowledge on a business level as well as good (fluent or mother tongue)
Experience:
- demonstrable success within Sales and Marketing leadership and pharmaceutical experience is essential.
- knowledge of the local environment and health market including therapeutic area and brand know-how as well as an in depth understanding of local healthcare system pricing and reimbursement.
- A good knowledge of local and international KOLs would be an asset.
- demonstrated the ability to lead and develop capability across cross-functional teams and might also have experience of building successful cross-functional business Units
- in depth understanding of Account Planning and Customer Engagement programme and processes
