POSITION SUMMARY -

The primary function of the Commercial & Wholesale Operations - Senior Specialist is new loan funding, interim fundings, payments, and maintenance for the defined lines of business, or executing related controls, utilizing the systems and processes defined by management. The incumbent handles analytical components (i.e. interpreting credit agreements) related to various loan/fee accruals, calculations as well as ongoing/ad-hoc reconciliation and remediation, for commercial loan/letter of credit products, which include new loans, modifications, and extensions.

This team member will closely assist the current team manager as well as back up the manager and teammates as needed for PTO. This position would be expected to approve CAD (Cash Against Documents) and Tree items, process payments including Lockbox and Advanced Teller Rejects. This role also backs up the Funding Team, pulls the audit samples, updates all daily work for the team in detail, and must do a daily reconcilement of checks received for posting.

RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTS -

  • Creates and analyzes error reports, researching the payments log, and incoming wire transfer payments
  • Ensures proper documentation is filed appropriately and is available for internal and external audits
  • Identifies and resolves problems within established guidelines
  • Performs dollar transactions, GL balancing, and quality review
  • Processes transactions involving servicing commercial loans and letters of credit
  • Researches and responds to incoming commercial loan requests received from business areas supported by the department
  • Researches payment history, loan balances, and associated documentation including loan notes, forbearance agreements, and modifications

EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience - Business or equivalent degree

WORK EXPERIENCE - 3-5 years - Working knowledge in Company's documentation and banking operations

SKILLS AND ABILITIES -

  • Ability to adapt quickly and be a team player

  • Demonstrated knowledge of other banking products and the ability to apply that information to this role
  • Excellent organizational, management, communication, and customer service skills
  • Expert knowledge of overall lending policies and procedures, credit analysis, underwriting, structuring, etc.
  • Requires excellent communication, good organizational skills, and attention to details
  • Solid judgment within broadly defined policies and practices
  • Solid knowledge/skills of Microsoft Office Suite and various bank systems
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge of the Syndicated and Commercial Loan products and markets
  • Working knowledge in Commercial Banking
