The
MANAGER - UWM DECISION SUPPORT, supports financial analysis and decision support activities across the UW Medicine enterprise through provision of analysis. This position is accountable for developing and managing the timely and accurate pro forma analysis and financial analysis, including dissemination and interpretation of useful analyses and reports for UW Medicine management.
This individual serves as an integral member of the Finance team. With a focus on supporting the efficient and accurate provision of financial information to analysis financial impacts of strategic, growth and improvement indicatives, improve financial performance, this position interacts closely with entity management, department leaders and Finance colleagues.
Develop and manage the timely and accurate financial analyses and pro formas for strategic, growth and/or improvements and dissemination of relevant reports for Medical Center management, utilizing internal financial information as well as working with external market data, facilitated through Crimson Market Data, soon to be Clarify Market Data. Assist UW Medicine leadership with complex decision support projects, interpretation and analysis of strategic, growth or improvement work, including coordinating and participating in fact-finding calls with operational leaders where assumptions are discussed and documented. Provide professional financial and decision support analysis for UW Medicine to support optimal decision-making and cost management. Focus on clear and concise documentation with the ability to present to a variety of audiences to ensure understanding of assumptions and potential decision outcomes of given analyses.
Partner with other UW Medicine departments, such as Strategy, Budgeting, entity leadership and ITS on support and development of decision support activities. Represent the Finance and Decision Support group in related meetings, standardization projects, system upgrades, strategic planning, development of annual operating budget, and long-term planning.

Participate in committees, task forces, and or standardization projects and implement agreed-upon processes across the enterprise

This position has accountability for leading and/or coordinating various cross-entity teams in support of achieving business goals
This position supervises five professional staff (Program Financial Analysts) of varying levels of experience.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related degree
Minimum of 6 years’ experience in financial and operational analysis is required
Healthcare industry experience is required
Strong skill level with financial systems such as General Ledger, Payroll and Patient Billing as well as supporting software programs, including SQL, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access is required
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
DESIRED: Experience with hospital workload units such as HCPCS/CPT codes, MS DRG’s and Census is strongly preferred
Experience with financial planning and budget is preferred
CMA, CPA, MBA or MHA is preferred
